Only in Sligo could the manager who led us to our first league in 35 years be getting such criticism. I know that when I look over the time Barraclough and Cook was here that I'll remember what Barraclough did more. That day against Pats surpassed any penalty shoot out victory. Cook did a great job but it was quite easy to play with no shackles on when you started every season so badly that you were generally out of contention in the league after the first round of games. The one time we worked our way into having a small chance of winning the league towards the end Cook messed up team selection in Inchicore and played Blinkhorn up front instead Doyle.
Sligo's floodlights aren't of a high enough standard for UEFA. Their 3rd Rd Europa League tie with the Ukrainians 2 years ago kicked off at the same time
Last time a tie wasn't won was 1999-2000
1997-98 was the last time an individual game wasn't won
Between 1983/84 and 1999/2000 LOI clubs only won 2 ties, both in 1993/94.
Last season was the first since 2003 that at least 2 LOI clubs didn't win a tie

Ok - at the expense of slightly derailing thread - Bara got the title, built on the work of not just Paul Cook but (spit) Sean Connor.
Cook choked that season not just at Inchicore but also against Derry at home re strikers. That said, he persisently played Danny Ventre so his footballing brain was suspect at times!
If Bara doesn't win the league or get a Euro win this season - it will have been a failure, in relative terms.
He simply doesn't seem to have a real masterplan and even against not a dazzling Euro side we have no inventiveness - its been like that all season. Last season, was last season, wawar etc.
I hope Rovers get a result - but this is four years on the trot (barring brilliant away Poltava draw) where we have underperformed.
Great time for Barra as a man and I think he's good for the club but I think he's too conservative as a coach. Hearing his interviews after games lately and he's calling for the players to have more confidence in their ability and to go out and play but he's the guy who is putting the team out and sorting out the gameplan. However, don't forget that we were without three definite starters last night in North, Cretaro and Greene but we will be beaten over there - if we couldn't score in the Showgies, we'll hardly do so in Norway. Joseph Ndo is God.
I'm more worried about the grammar.
He seems to be making far too many changes to the side, especially in defence. I know some players are missing but this was a game you needed to have a settled team/formation in place, well in advance of the tie.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).
Not sure if this has been covered already, but is Trabzonspor/Derry being streamed tonight?
It's scheduled for 6 channels according to Wiziwig, presumably with Setanta Turkey as the host broadcaster.
Malmo 2 up against Hibs already. Just shows how well Drogheda did to hold out for more than 2 hours of football.
You've got no fans.
Yeah but Oriel Park.
