Exclamation Eurostar Workers Vote For Strike Action

    Taken from BreakingNews.ie
A dispute at English channel rail operator Eurostar escalated today when maintenance workers voted to take strike action in a row over pay and conditions.

Members of the Rail Maritime and Transport Union voted by 176 to 27 in favour of taking industrial action.

Union leaders will meet on Friday to set strike dates unless the row has been resolved.
Fingers crossed they don't decide to strike on the weekend on the 9th
Don't know how the trains would be affected if they did?
    They'd probably still run.

Believe there's some sort of baggage handler strike due @ Gatwick, tomorrow week if anyone's travelling via there?
Also, a baggage strike @ Gatwick on Saturday 9th October, the same day as the match. Hope nobody is travelling via there on the morning of the match!!

Heard on the new's this morning that their talking about taking a strike ballot tomorrow, so I would guess that any action will be after the weekend of the game.

Sure are aware of them in my chosen field. Let me explain for the help of yer good self, a wild cat strike is when tool's are thrown to one side and everyone walk's out, where as a balot mean's that you've made up yer mind's through a vote what yer intention's are and are setting a date for the next course of action in order to bring the suit's to the table.

Lads, lads, tranquilo. As a train driver who has been on strike more often than Steve Staunton has caps, let's put this into perspective.

First: When a strike is called a ballot paper must be sent out (thanks to the b*tch, although this was one of her few sounder policies) and a vote counted. It isn't going to be all done and dusted in seven days.
Second: The only people you have to worry about in train strikes are train crews and signalmen. Maintenance? They'll just run the trains until they collapse. So see you all in Gay Paris!
This is the cooooooooooooolest footy forum I've ever seen!

What is it about french "workers", doesn't take much for them to strike at all. Thankfully this country has largely left those days behind.
