Totally. We have a limited squad (a lot of poor signings by Dunne), and we don't have enough to win the league or anything, but we could certainly be higher up the table with a better manager.
Dunne will go - whether it's in the next month, in 6 months time, or whenever, it's just a question of how drawn out and painful the process and how much damage is done to the club. Being on TV recently a few times has actually been detrimental to us because locals have seen just how awful we are to watch.
With a new manager I wouldn't expect miracles, I just want to enjoy games again. I think most fans would feel that way.
Ha ha. Dundalk lads calm down! Honestly not trolling!
Dundalk can only beat what's in front if them, so fair play to them for putting cork away. But regardless of whether they TRIED to keep the ball down and pass, if you look back at the game you'll notice they weren't very successful at it. When they did it ended in misplaced passes.
Out of the blue super hit from Mountney after slack defending. Ward has a great free kick on him. That's what led to the second goal. But the cork defensive header attempt for Hobans goal was embarrassing.
My opinion is Dundalk might get found out in the second series of games. Tactically I think they will be easily matched and overcome by the better teams. I see them finishing about 6th. Which would be a really solid season back after last year.
Cork on the other hand could be an 8th place unless they make serious changes. I've seen bray, shels and UCD this year and last night cork was the poorest, most clueless performance of the lot!
we were rubbish last night.. offered nothing going forward and some bad defending.. we were scoring goals for fun in pre-season like.. was very optimistic this season but all that has gone now and just cant believe how bad we are
As was I, but I think with hindsight now it's clear that the Northern Irish teams were just utterly rubbish. Rovers and Drogs steamrolled their way through Linfield and Portadown. We beat the top 2 Irish League teams and look at us!
I was up at Crusaders and how we won 3-1 playing so poorly is beyond me, they were the most inept outfit I've seen in a long time.

No idea where this came from but it's funny.

I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
Thanks Stu, So many to choose from! I particularly enjoyed this historical piece ...

Ekranas-Derry-Anderlecht all away in 7-8 days. Hope the team aren't wrecked by the time they get to Brussels.
Was there a direct Baltic/Brussels bus, or did the team end up drinking in Bruxelles in Harry Street?
Still not as bad as the infamous ''How are you getting to Belgium'' thread.
EL grounds are like good episodes of The Simpsons, no matter how many times you see them they're still funny
Oblig red card already for Shels,Robert Bayly .
Half time Sligo 0-1 Drogs
Some mental scenes in Sligo.
Sligo Rovers 1 - 1 Drogheda United
68' - Red Card - It's look as if Gaynor has been sent off. There was a break in play with the steward down injured and the referee was talking to the Sligo players, and Gaynor is gone.
Sligo Rovers 1 - 1 Drogheda United
68' - A steward is down injured after the Drogheda fans went a bit mental when Sligo scored.

Absolutely insane finish to the game in Sligo. Aaron Greene grabs a 90th minute goal, looks like victory. Drogheda score in the 95th minute.
And it's all over.

comments like that from the drogs fan have no place in football.. and he will get away with it, ridiculous.. crazy ending to the game
Terrible result from our point of view. Sending off actually killed the game early. Just a matter of us trying to break down 10 behind the ball with Shels counter attacking. One of our poorest performances so far and lack of options on the bench killed us. Bossekota missed.
Tweet was taken down by Gaynor.Think Gaynors brother plays for Drogheda u-19's ?
Crazy, crazy night.
Drogs fans fighting amongst themselves before the game even started (well it was lads fighting in the away section). And during the game itself till eventually the cops moved their arse in there.
Gaynor crossed for Elding equaliser and turned around and roared at the Drogs fans from about 15 yards away from them an loads of them run onto the pitch after him. Steward knocked to the ground. Ref then decides that Gaynor deserves a red for all of that. (Complete joke I think)
Then there's seems to be agro all over the far stand between Rovers fans and Drogs fans. Then you see some lad being chased behind the goals at the Volkswagen end.
Things didn't really calm down after that. Greene scores in the injury time and the place is going nuts. Then Rusk scores with the last kick and its like a morgue. Except for the third pitch invasion by the Drogs fans and one lad being turfed away by the stewards.
Both managers are up confronting the ref at the end.
Pure and utter mayhem all round.
Loved it.
