According to the Indo, the information relates to a future game, not any already played.

Furthermore, the FAI were not informed of any irregular betting patterns in games involving Longford, which has been the case in the past where suspicion has surrounded domestic matches.

It is believed that Longford were made aware of allegations which could have affected future games.

It was just an insurance policy ffs. Can't get away with anything these days. In all seriousness though hopefully it's a case of the player reporting an approach rather than getting involved himself. I still can't see where the money could be made in fixing First Division games.

Thinking about it, they would probably have said something to the effect of "the player in question reported an incident" if that was the case by now.

Don't want to mention the time a certain team went to play the return leg of a European game in The Principality.

that article of Dan McDonnells that was in the Indo today that was quoted it said that ltfc player approached his teammate about future bet about ltfc and it was his teammate that went to the club . if thats the case that changes things a lot!

It also makes it hard to prove anything definitively. Just one player's word against another, unless other players back it up.

It does, i was really hoping it was a player reporting he was approached for the credibility of the league, but this is bad if its true. No choice but to come down hard on this.

Let's just say it does come down to one mans word versus anothers, how on earth would the club and FAI deal with it? Serious question and one I hope doesnt come into the equation
