Back pair absent as Lille triumph

Lille defensive duo Stathis Tavlaridis and Gregory Tafforeau, who both impressed against Shelbourne at Lansdowne Road last week, were absent from the French side for Tuesday night’s league victory over Sochaux, but both are expected to return to action for the weekend meeting with Metz.
Former Arsenal defender Tavlaridis and Frenchman Tafforeau watched from the sidelines as their colleagues continued their bright start to the season with a 2-0 victory at Sochaux.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
Lille won that league match against Metz 4-0 btw.
