Red card sends Wanderers to win

Red card sends Wanderers to win

The sending off of Sligo Rovers goalkeeper Alvin Rouse just after the hour made all the difference as Bray Wanderers battled to a 2-0 victory at the Carlisle Grounds.
Rouse came racing out of his area on 68 minutes to challenge for a ball with Bray's Kieran O'Brien. The two collided and Rouse was sent off.
Bray finally broke the deadlock just four minutes later. Stephen Fox crossed for Eamon Zayed and the Bray striker fired home.

    Bray Wanderers 2-0 Sligo Rovers
Bray Wanderers moved into second spot in the First Division table for 24 hours at least with a victory over Sligo Rovers at the Carlisle Grounds on Friday night, when Rovers keeper Alvan Rouse was sent off for the second time this season at the same venue.

The Bajan shotstopper was dismissed by referee Jimmy O’Neill for a foul on Kieran O’Brien after 68 minutes, adding to his earlier red card against Bray at the Wicklow ground.

"The two collided and Rouse was sent off"
That is the biggest understatement EVER ! he ran 40 yards, lunged with 2 feet and nearly put tarzan over the wall ! it was a fcuking disgraceful tackle I dont know what he was thinking.

We should have had the match wrapped up inside the first 20 minutes but some sloppy finishing and smart saves from Rouse kept Sligo in it. Rovers did hit the target once all night
