Hope returns for Town


Athlone Town defender Des Hope returns to the squad following a knee injury for tonight’s match against fellow First Division strugglers Kilkenny City at St Mel’s Park. Kick off at 7.45pm.

Town suffered their 15th defeat of the season to UCD last weekend to leave player/manager Stephen Kelly fuming with his players. Kelly feels that they have not given the right commitment throughout the year.

A win against Kilkenny tonight would see Athlone move up to eighth position in the eircom first Division and away from the threat of re-election to the league.
