Yeah would it not be a case if he had played some sort of advantage and then O'Sullivan was still being fouled he would bring it back to where it started? Whereas there, the ref didnt acknowledge O'Sullivan being fouled and then he went on into the box and was fouled again?

Eh....this is starting to get confusing The referee never signaled to show he was playing advantage so the fact he gave the foul means it should have been a peno as it was clearly in the box.

Starting to get confused myself is it not where the first point of contact where the foul was made is where the free should be taken?

Yeah but in this case as far as I'm aware no advantage was played so the foul was where first contact was made, therefore, free kick and no penalty?

Ref wasn't going to give a peno anyways cos he had money on a Harps 1-0 win!!! The fact that he cocked up and gave a free instead of a peno and then from the free in, we score and he sh!tes himself again and realises his bet is gone he gives a free out!! Thats my explanation over this whole thing!!

When you see Mervue beating Waterford 4-0 and referees doing all they can to disallow goals you really do wonder sometimes
