Grandouet 8/1 far too big for the Champion Hurdle. Geraghty confident this morning. Have had more than I can afford on him e/w!

I thought you were on straight away to boast about your win in the first!

Cross Country race abandoned - moved to 5.15 Thursday - Declarations stand, check with your bookie but all bets should stand.

EW on Sizing Europe though it's only placing 2.

Took Pont Alexandre, Unioniste and Regal Encore all on an EW treble.

Got my Money back on Sizing Europe. Though that was some performance from Sprinter Sacre. Never saw anything like it.

First Lieutenant was my only Ante-post bet for Cheltenham ( worth telling people about at this stage ) and I hope he can do the business on day 3 today. Still 5/2 in places, looks on the skinny side on what is a competitive race though. Looks like a good days racing with an open enough World Hurdle. Had to take yesterday easy as I lumped on Grandouet but here are my tips for what its worth, for today:

    1.30 Dynaste
    2.05 Captain Sunshine
    2.40 First Lieutenant
    3.20 Peddlers Cross
    4.00 Tartak
    4.40 Romanesco
    5.15 Sacee Tiepy

Some nice e/w money yesterday 16/1, 20/1 and 10/1 so still breathing going into the final day.

First up lets hope JT McNamara recovers from his fall yesterday - he has sustained a neck injury and is in an induced coma in a Bristol hospital. Puts the few euro lost to the bookmakers into perspective.

Lets hope for an Irish winner in the Gold Cup - Sir Des Champs has it all to do but must have a great chance. AP McCoy on board as Davy Russell punctured a lung in the 2nd race yesterday.

Also an outside chance that there will be more Irish trained winners than British trained which would be an amazing feat given the resources available to both. Its 10-10 going into the final day. Adds an interesting footnote to the proceedings.

Some tough races to call today - but for what its worth here are the selections, hoping for some e/w money with these again:

    1.30 Lac fontana
    2.05 Il Fenomino
    2.40 Our Vinnie
    3.20 Sir Des Champs
    4.00 Salsify
    4.40 Village Vic
    5.15 Drumshambo
    5.45 The Poor House (nap)

    Resources?

I don't think you can even get into the resources argument with Irish horses and racing. Not a chance of us being the poor relation in real terms. Britain has more yards and trainers and jockeys but they are bigger and it's natural. We throw money at the industry here and we get the rewards.

Wasn't looking to get into any argument. Simply put, there are multiples of tracks, trainers, horses and owners (i.e. resources) if you compare England to Ireland. The fact that Ireland leads in trained winners 13-11 with 4 races at the championship festival left is a testament to the quality of these people and is noteworthy in my book. At a guess I would say Ireland would have 15-20% of the runners yet have over 50% of the winners.

Now to see if we can take the greatest race of them all - you would think the rain has scuppered Sir Des Champs' chances, but you never know.

I wasn't looking for an argument. Sorry if it's perceived that way.

I was merely stating that it's just something that doesn't even need to be brought up or discussed as we are world class at it.

And I can't watch the Gold Cup as I'm stuck in the office.
