Quick Question. Myself and a couple of Irish mates are unfortunately not in Paris or our local back home for French game so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for good pubs in London to watch the game. Should know this at this stage but the call to seek one out hasn't really arrived before now. Prepared to travel anywhere in the Greater London area for a good atmosphere.

Why not get the Eurostar from Waterloo and watch it in Paris? Looks like there will be nobody left in London to watch it with.Originally Posted by Bowsy
Cheers Peader, do they definitely show the game? Been stung by so called Irish pubs playing the England game before. Missed Russia Vs Ireland because of it. No great loss.
That's a fair point, gspain. I'm saving money though and kind of defeats the object of not going in the first place. Might as well have paid the extra few euro for the match ticket. Embarassingly the whole idea of just going for the day not a weekend has only occured to me now.
Yes, they show everything.Originally Posted by Bowsy
I may be even in a position to offer you a ticket and a hotel room.Originally Posted by Bowsy

Cheers Peader. That would be pretty sweet but I don't I'll be able to do it. Have a couple of Irish mates in London for the game so can't really abandon them and chances of getting 3 tickets at this stage I'm guessing are pretty slim.Originally Posted by Peadar
No problem getting 3 tickets at this stage - probably even get them in the Irish end. PM me if you like but there seem to be plenty of spares floating around London at face value.Originally Posted by Bowsy
By the time you've had a night out and drank all that crap beer you would nearly spend a smuch you know. French beer mightn't be much better but will taste better when we win.![]()
Are you joking me?Originally Posted by Bowsy
There are tickets all over the shop.
Closer to the day they'll be falling like confetti!
You'd need to find a place for them all to stay though.
Not sure how big my room will be.
4 of us shared a room in Basel but there was 3 beds and enough bed linen to make a bed on the floor.

See topic by Junior in Manchester with spare tickets in the Irish and French ends.

youll be kicking yourself if you dont go when we win 1-0![]()

Great stuff. Can't believe I've been writing this one off as I can't afford a big weekend in Paris when I could just do a day trip. Cheers lads. Would appreciate your help as soon as I've got my mates on board.
Great Stuff - you'll get a ticket and no probs with hotels - don't give your mates a choice...Originally Posted by Bowsy
Is the eurostar 2 for 1 still available?Originally Posted by Bowsy
You might be able to take advantage of that.

Anyway if you do stay in London,
In the centre of town The Lyric in Great windmill street just off Shaftsbury Avenue is a good spot for game's.
Or if yer up in North London, the 12 Pin's in Finsbury park, Mother Redcap's, Holloway road in the Archway, O'Rafferty's in Wood Green or the Erris Tavern in North Finchley are all good pub's for the game's, and yer can bet the native's match won't be getting preferance in any of them.

Lads, have got my mates on board with this provided i can find a cheap return to Paris. Have been looking all weekend but with no joy. Eurostar, Easyjet, BA, BMI are all too expensive and Ryanair not an option. Tried to do that 2 for 1 thing but it is not available and would be £150 each on that saturday. Hope beyond hope but if anyone has any other ideas they would be much appreciated.
Sylvo, cheers for the pub info. will be very handy for future reference.
This will check every airline:

Just keep that in mind if you can't find what you're looking for.

Cheers EB. Cheapest on there is £95 each. Not bad but still above my slender budget at moment. I think I've left it too late. Wish I'd thought of this lark earlier. Bugg*r.
What about checking out the boat train from Charing Cross, ok you've got a three hour train ride to Paris, but there's something like a ferry every hour to France from Dover and the ferry only take's just over an hour. Also the euro line's bus from Victoria bus station, my brother was going to go by that, and they were looking at about 40 quid.
