Presume so Danny. Though I thought trap said Keogh was the contingency. I really do give up.

The Trap is playing mind games. I like it.

Am I the only person who think that, in spite of Trap's other lunacy, this kind of makes sense? You lose a defensive player, replace him with a more attacking one, so you have to sacrifice a bit of creativity in the midfield in order to shield your back 4. Perhaps he could have handled the situation better, and it's definitely unfortunate after his remarks about not fully trusting Brady, but it's not even in the top 50 inexplicable decisions Trap has made since taking over

Will wait and see where exactly he plays. Trap did put Cox on the wing in the Euro's though, so wouldn't surprise me.

I'm a proud Icelander after this evening's victory away to Slovenia. Will I be a proud Irishman later?
There's life left in Lars Lagerback, he's a canny strategist, wouldn't be a bad choice after Trap.

    You know what?

With all these last minute disruptions and changes, I wouldn't bet against us going on to win this game tonight.

    Come on lads

It might make sense, it's the management skills I'm questioning. McCarthy wasn't as good as Whelan yesterday now Trap is relying on him. Brady has been embarrassed twice in 24 hours! Keogh went from Brady's back up to Walters' understudy...hmmmmmmmmmm...........

    Ireland to win 3-0.

My reading is that with Trap losing the experience of Whelan in midfield, he doesn't want to risk a midfield with less than 40 caps between them in a crucial away tie. Walter has a few more caps and a lot more experience than Brady.

As peader says, it's not completely mad

I wouldn't argue with you there. I don't think Trap should even try and justify his team selections. If he'd stayed quiet, he'd have had people think he was a mad old fool who didn't know what he was doing. Now he's aggravated at least three of his squad and people think he's a mad old fool who doesn't know what he's doing.

My personal view is that his English isn't good enough to express what he actually means in a tactful way, and he'd be better off simply telling people he's the manager, he makes the decisions, and then dealing with any fallout this might have with the players behind closed doors.

Good start, keeping the ball for more than 3 passes a big plus.

    McCarthy can pass forward Trap.

Long should have hit the target there.

i used to be able to get free streams no probs with no add-ons but havent seen one for ages

We're actually passing it! We actually look like a decent enough side!
