    Exclamation 2013 Alternative Prediction Thread

You all know the drill at this stage. The LOI is not merely about football, it's about the completely mental stuff surrounding it. And with the most boring licensing day ever just past we're due some serious madness during the year. So let's be having your opinions on some, all or none of the following.

First Club (if any) to miss wage payments:
First Club (if any) to transfer list entire squad / get a transfer embargo:
First Club (if any) to be subject to a winding up order:
First Club (if any) to go under completely / pull out:
List your top three ticking timebombs, financial or otherwise:
Number of clubs to gain asterisks this season:
Most bizarre reason for points deduction:
Predicted red card count for Shelbourne:
Number of threads that descend into another discussion of the Galway situation:
Number of league clubs in Galway next year:
Clubs that will go down in flames in Europe:
Will Waterford threaten to pull out again?
How many discussions of the way forward for the league will become sidelined by yet another discussion about John Delaney's wages:
Most talked about proposed change in league structure:
Actual changes in structure for 2014:
What will happen to Sean Connor next:
Can Stephen Kenny top his incredible zombie pose from last year?
This year's weird gimmicky feature on MNS:
    First manager to be sacked:
Something mental has to happen involving Limerick, what will it be:
What version of Derry City will we be on by the end of 2013:

Anything else you want included, post away and I'll add it in.

    Unless I don't want to.

Can i just ask why some of you seem to think Athlone will go tits up.
I know exactly what our budget is and its very very similar to previous seasons. Who do we have exactly that would be on big wages?

Exactly. It's not as if there's any history of clubs managed by Roddy getting into trouble.

Is Micky O'Connor involved too? Heard a few tales about him from his spell as Town manager that can't be repeated too. In a previous spell as Athlone manager he failed to grasp the difference between net wages and gross wages and they ended up with three or four players on over a grand a week in the First Division!

I know I know, but looking at Roddy's record would scare me if he was anywhere near Finn Park. Carlisle, Rovers, Dublin City, Monaghan, even Cork all had major meltdown when or just after he was there- I can't quite recall the timeline at Bohs, maybe they didn't have issues until later.

And in this sort of thread everybody's going to get offended at some stage

To be fair to Roddy, he seems to have caught the financial meltdown bug against his own will upon taking the Carlisle job. Addiction is a horrible illness.

    LOL

Will be about 3 times on average per Limerick game I go to so there's no mistaking where my loyalty lies!

First Club (if any) to miss wage payments: Derry, but only for one set of contracts.
First Club (if any) to transfer list entire squad / get a transfer embargo: None
First Club (if any) to be subject to a winding up order: Athlone, if only because Roddy is so easy to wind up.
First Club (if any) to go under completely / pull out: None
List your top three ticking timebombs, financial or otherwise: (1) Setanta Cup fails to get a sponsor; (2) FAI debt; (3) the little throbbing vein on John Delaney’s temple when he has to present the FAI cup to the Limerick captain.
Number of clubs to gain asterisks this season: None
Most bizarre reason for points deduction: If it’s Limerick, do you really think the FAI will need a reason?
Predicted red card count for Shelbourne: 8
Number of threads that descend into another discussion of the Galway situation: To infinity and beyoooooond.
Number of league clubs in Galway next year: 2
Clubs that will go down in flames in Europe: None, but Drogheda fail to ignite.
Will Waterford threaten to pull out again? Yes, applying the rhythm method in honour of the new Pope (see below), but it still counts as screwing everybody else.
How many discussions of the way forward for the league will become sidelined by yet another discussion about John Delaney's wages: Can’t believe he’s on so much money. What does he do for it, huh? Waste of space, bleedin’ s@*&!!hawk... This thread for one.
Most talked about proposed change in league structure: Any format that accommodates Tralee Dynamos. (I'm with you on this one, Legendz!)
Actual changes in structure for 2014: 1 - RTE website introduces double line spacing for league table.
What will happen to Sean Connor next: Elected Pope in bizarre Vatican c0ck-up (now there's a Freudian slip!) after a good luck card from Steve Bruce is mistaken for an early Aramaic version of a lost gospel.
Can Stephen Kenny top his incredible zombie pose from last year? How will we know the difference?
This year's weird gimmicky feature on MNS: all ads before during and after the show to be for Volkswagen; Dave Barry to sign off with ‘beep dee dee beep beep, dat’s all Volks.’
First manager to be sacked: sadly, not John Delaney.
Something mental has to happen involving Limerick, what will it be: 8,000 Munster rugby bandwagoners attend the first home game; 6,000 of them identify the keeper as ‘definitely yer man, Ronald O’Gara.’
What version of Derry City will we be on by the end of 2013: Kia Provo Derry. Their first game against Naomi Klein St Pats ends in a blistering display of the perpetually simmering conflict between the ne’er to be reconciled globalisation and jumpers for goalpost ideologies.

The only format appears to be the KDL. What the FAI should do as a matter of urgency is... ah no, I won't go there.
