    Viber Problem

I installed Viber on my Vodafone858 a couple of weeks back. Now, when I get a regular text (off a contact who is on Viber also) it goes into my Viber inbox as well as my regular inbox. It also vibrates every time I get one of these texts even though my message settings has vibrating off. There is no option in my Viber settings to turn it off even though there is in one of my friend's. I tried deleting the application and installing another version but the same things are happening. Through scanning the net I see I am not the only person who's had this problem but solutions are hard to come by. If anybody knows how to stop this from happening or can provide a link to a version that doesn't act up I would be grateful.
    Thanks.

It's a wretched piece of Software and I use Whatsapp if I can.

There's options on the iOS version for this that are removed from Android version adn teh problems you describe are everpresent on mine as well. There's no quick fix I'm afraid.

I'm guessing your friend has an I-Phone?

He doesn't have an iPhone but it's something similar I'd say. Yeah I was thinking I might be screwed alright when I couldn't find answers online. Think I'll just uninstall it until they either come up with something or I get a better phone! Thanks.

Will do. I only need Viber to contact two or three people really so I'll just make sure they're on Whatsapp and get rid of Viber. I definitely don't use it enough to justify putting up with it's irritating malfunctions!!

Fair enough. I'll just reinstall Viber when I need to make a call so.

There's other Free call Apps out there.

It's a shame Viber is a such a pile of poo for Android. It's free in the Apple Applications Store so that explains its popularity with that crowd.

I thought it was free full stop?

Do you use any decent free calls apps yourself?

Sorry I shoudl have clarified. Whatsapp ain't free (last time I checked) with iOS users. Hence Viber being particularly popular. I had used voxer but bugger all people had it. I have used Viber a little bit but again only when necessary.

An upgrade option came through from Viber today. I did the upgrade and it has solved 50% of my problems! Basically there is an option now in the settings -

'Free reply with Viber (When possible, use Viber for SMS replies)'

By ticking this option off, it stops the regular texts going into my Viber inbox. I still can't stop it from vibrating though when I get a Viber text but that is probably the lesser of the two problems really.
