Our attendance in our first game would be close enough to all of Monghans put together in there time up would it?

The real test for Limerick is going to be maintaining decent crowds. First home game, derby match, lots of local interest, big away crowd, that was always gonna be a good crowd by LOI standards.
Their next home game is against UCD.
So here's the question to Limerick supporters (or anyone else). If the game had of taken place on a Friday as orignally planned, would the attendance have been bigger?
I reckon so ya but how much I do not know. You could argue that it was a similar time to two big English games, the weather was crap, people decide to watch it on tv, it was mother's day etc.. But you could also argue that it allowed Cork fan's that might not have been able to travel on a Friday to go on a Sunday. Great buzz around the city for the game for the last few weeks so I reckon the majority of people that wanted to go did go regardless of when the game was on.
Edit: By the way, not too familiar with Thomond Park and it was difficult to see the top of the stand from the terrace I was in, but I reckon the was more than 3,500 there.

Without the distraction of United/Chelsea, Liverpool/Spurs or Six Nations? I'd say so, though I would imagine it wouldn't be a gargantuan amount of people.

Question for the Cork fans, how many Limerick fans do ye reckon were in the opposite stand? Was difficult to see from the terrace below.

On a Tuesday.
It's a shame there's so much messing with the league fixtures (I know this one's a mid-week game, but the point still holds). Makes it hard for clubs to establish a routine of Friday evening games when there's ties being moved for TV and for international clashes and the likes.
Just having a look at our first round of fixtures. Our Home games left are Shels, Bohs, Dundalk, Sligo and Derry. Hopefully we can manage to get over 2,000 for at least 3 of those 5 games. It would be a great start to the season financially for us.
EDIT: The Shels and Bohs games are on a Tuesday and a Sunday so that puts a dampner on that thought![]()
Here on a technicality.
The first Friday night home game for Limerick won't be until the 10th of May against Drogheda Utd.
Limerick will be heading in for a run of home games against Dublin teams before then UCD, Pat's, Shams, Bohs and Shels all coming to Thomond Park over the next 5 home games.
I think midweek games are great. Shams and Bohs despite being Tuesday night games should get decent crowds.
