    Dan Murray

Lads, I've been reading a lot of sh!t on here lately about Dan not being a good captain. Fair enough, nobody can argue that he's not been playing well recently but I'd love to know why people are saying he's not doing well as captain?

Personally, I think he's doing an excellent job as captain. He's always shouting encouragment at his fellow players during the games and imo is a good motivator, he's always happy to speak to fans or speak to the press and he writes a column in the programme.
Just because his playing performances have been poor of late (and this is only a blip, he'll come good again) is no reason to critisise the role he plays as captain.

    .................................................. ..

He has to come good now and for the rest of the season !!

    End of ......

No room for average/poor performances at this late stage.

    It needs to happen now.
It needs to happen from here on in !!
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

to be honest I've no faith in the guy as captain. I wasn't around to see him when he was here on loan, but I came back waiting to see this class centre back and he's only shown it in fits and starts since he signed permanently IMO. He dives in to tackles too much, gets caught out of position and is too prone to bad distribution from the back. He has talent, but I just think that he doesn't have the experience or maturity to captain the team yet. I like Dan, he's a nice guy, always willing to have a word with fans etc., but a captain needs to be an example to his teammates, playing top quality every week and leading by example-and Dan just isn't doing that.

his motivating must be counter-acted a bit by his over the top criticism.
