Maybe not in the circle of EL managers but teams need to look outside that. There's good managers out of work across the water, even ones with Irish connections. Is it really that unrealistic to think, say, John Aldridge would want to manage Cork? He's been linked with jobs over here in the past and did an amazing job with Tranmere. There's also people like Ronnie Whelan who could be approached, there's people out there if Cork have the ambition to get them in.Originally Posted by Shelsman
Mind you, I can't see Dolan going, at least not before the end of the season anyway.

There was nothing wrong with Derek Mountfield's management, he had a spell of four bad games when we lost and ended up out of the cup and out of contention in the league, if we'd won them instead of lost them we'd have been second (a point off top) and in the cup quarters.Originally Posted by thecorner
We've been more forgiving of Barry, Gunther and Dolan after they've had worse runs ffs.
Mountfield got pushed as soon as the board had an excuse, because a bunch of the old boys didn't like having to cut out the fags and booze, even Greg who knocked heads with him at the time has come out since and admitted that DM was ahead of his time at city and that the players weren't ready to make the step up the manager wanted towards professionalism.
Strange the way they managed seven wins on the spin as soon as he was gone, that wasn't down to Gunther being a better manager, it was simply down to eleven players bothering their arses instead of just one (Napier for the record).
Anyway, back to topic, Dolan is going nowhere, if only because it's cost too much to buy out his contract.

Patsh,
why dont you come over to our site and see what we have had to put up with for the last 12 months. I think that we have been very restrained dont you?
Besides, when we win the Cup we can bring it to Leeside and show **** what a real trophy looks like.
Its **** that puts the 'I' in Inbred.

Isn't the the Waterford sense of humour great.... changing Cork to "****" and calling Dolan "Fat" instead of Pat. So much thought went into thinking up those witty remarks, so mature, intelligent and absolutely hilarious!Originally Posted by Partizan
