    Banville bags late Waterford winner

PJ Banville proved Waterford's super-sub with a stoppage time winner which ended Rockmount's FAI Cup dreams.

Willie Bruton, who had rescued Waterford in the first game with a late equaliser, gave United the perfect start with a goal inside the first minute.

    Banville strikes to sink Rockmount

    Banville strikes to sink Rockmount

Although outplayed for most of the game tonight, Rockmount's challenge was only killed off by a goal two minutes into injury time by premier division Waterford United. Rockmount, the only side outside of the top flight left in this season's FAI Cup were hoping to advance to the semi-finals.
Willie Bruton gave Waterford the perfect start at Turner's Cross, heading in from Daryl Murphy's cross after only a minute.

Glad you beat rockmount. These non-league clubs get my goat with their moaning how they could play in the league.

Hope you beat derry as they embarrassed the league along with longford in Europe last few years. Anyway be good for the league for Waterford to win the cup.

I know you dont own the RSC but would'nt it be better if you had tv coverage facing your stand??

N.Y. Hoop, No pay for your players, no ground of your own, fans with the worst reputation in the league, and (the ultimate humiliation) just wiped out by Dublin City.
On behalf of all Longford Fans I humbly apologise for any embarrassment OUR TEAM has caused you.

Observer you should apologise to everyone in the league for getting humiliated by a team from Liechtenstein FFS. We were in the same situation last year (except the dublin ****y bit!) and we still won in Poland.

I hope we can win the Cup and qualify for Europe since the first time since the mid 80's.We've lost a couple of semi finals so hope our luck changes.Derry away won't be easy though.I agree it'd look better for the camera facing the stand but I'd imagine its more comfortable for the camera crews to be up there at the back of the stand and also theres a better sound as away on the far side of the pitch is a bit far from the action.

If ye win it you'd probably have to play the European game in cark!

Was talking to your cameraman down there last time and he said he was sick of asking the club to construct even a temporary scaffold facing the stand. He pointed out one instance where someone jumped a second before a goal went in and he missed it!! Shame really cos it's one of the best stands around and it's not seen..........

If we played our European game in the X, we would be told by the Neanderthal **** officials and stewards to sit in the away section, while the ****ies (in the Shed) would shout for the opposition.

    Bitter lot they are Hoop.

As for the TV stand, thats costs money and insurance and right now we havent got a few cents to rub together.

Tell me about it. Last season the ****s that "run" our club decided to play a home game with cark down there! Although we were the "home" team we had to sit in the away end. Shamefully played in our away jersies too.......

Regarding the tv stand how about your supporters club getting together and maybe funding it? We do it for any games TV3 dont show up for.

The official supporter's club is apparently handing over a substantial cheque to the club to in some way compensate them for the expense in the wasted trip to Derry last weekend.
As for the TV Stand, there has been 1 in place whenever we've been involved in live games but it's removed directly after the game.Shame really cos it looks like we just have a pitch with fencing around it on E.L Weekly otherwise

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you NY Hoop. Just an idea from your last post. Maybe ye should play all your games in Poland. Not only would ye still be playing in someone elses stadium but ye might win more games and have less problem with your supporters. There would also be a massive spin off for the rest of the League here which is an added bonus.

Funny that you're the 1 saying that while posting in the Waterford United section and along with your mate thecorner seem to take an unhealthy interest in our clubs affairs on an almost hourly basis!!!!!

Dont apologise it's just a shame you came back at all with crap like that. I came on here wishing the Blues well for the cup and enquiring about the position of their tv stand. What gives you the right to slag off all our supporters?

Admire what your club has done but a minority of your fans think all of a sudden you're Milan. Dont get ahead of yourself there culchie bohs.
