Let's just hope Burnley don't play Portuguese opposition anytime soon.
"Meanwhile, Burnley are confident of recruiting Ireland centre-back Richard Keogh before the transfer window closes on Monday after last night lodging a €1m bid for the Derby captain."

DeLorean posted a link linking Keogh to Burnley months ago and I scoffed at it. Humble pie may be eaten yet.
Burnley could play a back line composing of four Irish players - Reid, Keogh, Long and Ward - if this were to go through.

Offered a new contract at Derby
Steve McClaren-
“Richard Keogh is a big part of this football club, he is the captain,
The way he plays is kind of special for us. He can come out and play. He can defend, is a good all-rounder and a good leader."
He just didn't show it any time he played for Ireland. Or in the Playoff final.
Fair play to him, he's worked his way up through the leagues and is reaping the rewards. The next step will be to iron out his inconsistencies and establish himself as an international, hopefully.
Didn't show what? McClaren is talking about what he brings to Derby, at Championship level as things stand. Can you not just be happy for Richie, while reserving the right to be worried if thrown in at the deep end for us? I think most of us would be worried in that scenario.
Burnley have had a bid rejected according to Sky Sports.
They were linked with Shane Duffy early on in the transfer window; it would be great if they went back in for him. If, on the other hand, they are looking for experience, they could do worse than Paul McShane; Hull might be willing to sell after bringing in Dawson.
I could still see this one going through. If it does, Burnley could have a defence comprising of Irish players; Ward on the left, Long and Keogh in the centre and Reid on the right.
My gut instinct is that he is happy at Derby, and possibly feels he owes them after his playoff blunder. I reckon he'll sign the contract alright. Chances are that Burnley will be back in the Championship next season anyway and Derby may very well go in the opposite direction.
Speculation comes to nothing
Expected to sign new contract after returning from international duty.

Brutal!
Shouldn't be allowed in the Singing section let alone the squad.
Done well on X Factor tonight.
He wouldn't be as naturally talented as Keogh but with a bit of mentoring who knows. If anybody can turn an average Joe Soap into a superstar, it's Simon Cowell.
Wilson injured...
.... ok.
