50-70% sounds quite high - is there even room in the professional setup for 50%-70% of 16-year-olds to make it each year? (I assume by "top academies", you mean one of the 28 Category One academies in England). I'd be sceptical about that one tbh. (Here's a report from the BBC in 2014 which says that of those entering academies at 16, 50% will have dropped out of the game within two years, and more than 75% will be gone by the age of 21.
