    BBC channel 301 (red button)

If you like to follow the Irish footballers in their individual you might find BBC channel 301
helpful, this may also be what you get when you press the red button.
I was not aware of this before, I just stumbled upon it when messing around, trying to improve my TV
    reception.

It's rather like what Sky Sports news was like (before it was removed from freeview TV in the UK),
ie just basically following the results, has Mark Lawrenson on it atm.
It is on the red button apparently.

Seems they also have other football related programs on there too according to the guide
something called "football forum" might be good new for news on Irish players, hence this must be the right forum for posting

What do you mean by that precisely?
Does help if you are clear what you are talking about rather than leave people guessing.

The answer to the question I think you are asking is no, I was not aware of it.
I never use the red button normally largely because it is carp and
is basically reinventing the wheel. The BBC do not seem to have advertise the service
adequately as I was not aware of it.

You really don't tire of pointless threads do you? Or will you say this is a fine thread because of the amount of disbelieving replies it garners?

Messing around channels to improve tv reception is a novel approach.
If it works, it certainly beats doing a sun dance in torrential weather or checking out for slight dish alignment distortion in a hurricane.

yes it is a novel approach, but it actually worked, that and an extra signal booster cascaded and lots of tinkering an tweaking of cables.
I can now get all the channels both on the TV and on the PC via a USB dongle. The extra booster was not enough a significant amount of
'messing around' was required, the digital signals can be very sensitive to small changes, and my 'messing around' got me the 4 missing muxes back.
Not too sure how I finally cracked it but putting the signal booster at a 45% angle
may well have done the trick, I could find out by moving it back but I will leave well alone
