Looks today will be historic for more reasons than one, as Puerto Rico votes to join the Union:
Commonwealth status: 404,945 (33.1%)
Independence: 66,761 (5.5%)
Statehood: 751,264 (61.4%)

It's not so straightforward. It was a non-binding referendum which gave 2 questions so there was not a very clear-cut answer.

Seemingly, a big issue is how a potential new bloc of voters (apparently primarily Democrat-leaning, at least initially) will be viewed by Republican congressional lawmakers.
Could we have gotten to the point where the most developed countries don't want to expand anymore?!!
