If you want to become a member of the AUL committee then you need your own club to nominate you and two or three other clubs I think to nominate you as well and then it goes to the AGM for proposal and to be passed or thats the way it used to be unless they changed that to, and then your on the committee. Then after the AGM the committee decide on their own committee and who takes up what positions
with the backlog of games at the end of the season it might be best going forward to change the AOH semi-finals to a one off game at a neutral venue.
We ( carew park ) are looking forward to a cracking cup tie be a great game.
Horse would you go for an aul job !! You have my vote
Best of luck to pearse.what is the date for that game.hope ye stay injury and suspension free before that game to give it a right go up there
A quality vote it is too! Never say never in football but I don't see in the next few years. I'm getting my fill of football now with 4/5 days a week!! Hard to walk away from your club so I think they will have to relax that rule in the future. How would that work though?
I think Cross days were reduced for AUL by MFA so either semis or two finals had to go.
I'm split on it, like FA cup in England. The more people who play at the Cross the better but something special about a final?
Wouldn't a double header somewhere be the answer? Same time in Casement, Blarney or Carrigaline?
Just want to say best of luck to Pearse in the next round. Here's hoping they can beat Carew park
Semis shouldn't be anywhere near turners cross that's half the buzz of playing a final.. 1 leg neutral venue for me anyway that's the way it should be!!
I'm there![]()
one game semi is the right way to go it is the way it always was until the AUL in their wisdom decided to change it, now if you want to suggest it is changed back then a proposal from a club is needed for the AGM to have it changed back, this proposal would have to be in a month before the AGM with the Secretary of the AUL and then there would be a discussion at the AGM and you would see if clubs wanted it or not, maybe it would be passed at the AGM at the end of the season.
I still dont see what is wrong with playing the semis in Turners Cross as the neutral venue, as it is always great for clubs and players to play in the cross.
In order for you to be able to join the AUL at the moment you have to cut all ties with your present club in my opinion that is a lot to expect because people give a lot of time to their own clubs and are very involved in their clubs for a very long time and put in a lot of years, the AUL need to change this rule they have if they want to get good working volunteers onto their bord. In the MSL you can stay involved to a certain extent with your own club, here is another proposal for the AGM because this is the only platform form that clubs have for suggesting change
What's the point of a two legged semi-final? It's a knockout cup competition. Away goals don't count do they??
”That should be NO problem for the defence – OH NOOOO!!”
