Great idea in theory Oldlegs and with a bit of tweaking could even work. But in all honesty do people still think this would stop players blaming the official after a result goes against them. Not at all. As soon as one of them young linesmen make a tough decision you would have fellas coming on here saying he don't know what he is doing or he is out of his depth or what ever. The fact is it ill always happen. The losing team will always blame the officials one way or another. Just alone by reading this forum in the weekend gone several clubs have blamed the ref for results going against them either directly or indirectly. Surely some one on here benefitted from a referees decision but you don't see them coming on here and giving him credit. I think it's about time players and managers had a look at themselves first because they are the one who miss the chances or give away goals. Not the ref. best of luck to Pearse in the draw. Fingers crossed for home draw

Thanks Hubba there goes my dream of being on aul commitee . Triggs thanks be nice to have linesman . Just a question on aul funds what are they used for ??? And without dragging up old news what was the aul doing with that amount of cash ??? Was there a plan or what was the thinking behind it . Be nice if aul gave something back to clubs ie in grants or even low interest loans .

My idea would be to improve referreeing standards by cutting out repeat errors for a start. Twice we had a grade one official this season who made an error twice. He compounded the error twice when he had ways not to. If that came up at a refs meeting a month or six weeks later and they discussed how to handle it next time, that official would learn. We won one of those games by the way!

We had one of the top officials on the local game make a horrendous error a few years back that did change momentum in a game. He is still a top official in my opinion. However, for example, there is another Grade 1 official who I have seen three times this year and he gets five or six decisions right out of ten. He should not be Grade 1. Grade 1 needs to be getting 8 or 9 right.

Someone mentioned managers and players need to be better. What is being missed is that we pay to play - they get paid. Just looking for value for money.

The AUL would take any good footballing man on board. They are overworked amateurs.

Anyone who was at the meeting when the missing money story broke saw the AUL chairman in pieces. If he knew about the money and was acting, then he should get an Oscar!!

    Best of luck Tricks!

Looking at the eight Prem and Prem A fixtures for next week, I don't know one guy, only had another guy once so won't comment. Leaves six, 3 are ok. They make mistakes but overall get most things right. The key is that you can talk to them and they will explain decisions. We mightn't like it but at least there is respect. Two of the others make the same mistakes again and again. The key is that they mightn't even know that they do cos who tells them? The last guy is rising through the ranks, but I know teams don't rate him.

People need to realise that we are not looking to hang anyone- just looking for value for our money. The opinions of the teams are not taken into account.

I plan to suggest a form of refs report from teams , set mail address or standard form for example. We send in our opinions and they are reviewed once a month by league and representative from refs association together. After a while, a pattern will emerge of teams who report only when they lose and other redundant opinions, but also other patterns will emerge. The league can see what refs/teams don't get on and it might help them avoid confrontation. Common errors by the same ref can help the refs society advise the ref. win for everyone.

Ask your clubs what they think before AGM and let me know in pm if you want.

Saw a teenager ref a game yesterday. Got 90% of his decisions right. Looks a prospect.

Did I hear Robbie Walsh and his manager had a dressing room confrontation after the Street game?
Thats a great idea about a form of refs report cant see the leagues and referees going for it but putting a proposal to the AGM's is worth a shot be interesting to see what they would say might make them take the games a bit more seriously.

Having an AOH cup medal does mean a lot to everyone who has one and anyone that doesn't have one would I'm sure would like to have one, the semis used to always be played in Turners cross as well and were a very big occassion, but by making them two leg they deprived teams of playing in turners cross yet again, but we have come to expect these types of decisions from the AUL.

agree with ya too a point anything can happen in a cup match. but there two legged semis now the weaker teams wont get away with it twice. quality will prevail. cannot for the life of me understand why there 2 legged. imagine the fa changinng the fa cup to 2 legged semis thered be a mutiny.
