Ya or maybe get the refs to design the card themselves with only key areas to be rated, and rate by score as oppose comments, comments could have a negative effect. If a ref knows he's scoring low in for example communicating his decisions, it'll be easier for him to try improve on that. I'd support your cause anyway Horse!

can a ref take a player out during a half time team talk to talk to the player he was told he had no reason in the team talk and do it when the game restarted .and i dont think he can insult a player.

When is a joke a joke

2 leg semis in the Aoh,,,,,,,,,, complete an utter joke an mockery of the most highly regarded competition in not just Cork, but those that hold an Aoh as there highest acolade,an i have no doubt some will say sure tis only a Cork thing,,,,,,, havin a Aoh medal used to mean a lot cause it was a nightmare to reach a final, now we have 2 bites at the cherry,,,,,,,,, just my opinion,an i know its been this way 4 or 5 seasons

    On the refs thing ,,,,,,,,,,.
was at a game once where a player lambasted a ref,,,,, the ref returned fire an asked. " do i tell you how bad you were".,,,,,,,,im the first to say its a poor standard,,,,,,, but how would ye feel if refs had a thread about the worst clubs to ref in cork,,,,,,an score them on a match card,,,...

Spot on Littleman, it's a cup competition, but the AUL obviously want the big teams playing the final every year, why not play the semi in a neutral venue!

I think aul should use linesman for prem games . They could use young refs as linesman (refs starting out) it would be a good thing for the young refs to watch how a grade A refs the game it would also keep grade A ref in check as he would have 2 refs watching his everymove . It's just an idea . The Aul could use some of the money that it gets from fines yellow cards red cards etc to roll it out. It would help train young refs etc instead of just throwing them in at the deep end what ye all think

Great idea, plus it gives the ref a chance to consult rather than getting abuse for the making a decision

They do Littleman - doesnt a report give a referee licence to say what he wants? All we are asking is for the same.

Linesmen is a great idea - If they put say 10 lines as part of their course, then cost might be minimal or nil.

Horse Im with ya all they way in trying to improve things, but theres what may be achiveable,an whats not.Why not ask at an Aul meeting is it possible to arrange a meeting with the referees commitee to address the concerns.Currently theres no platform in place for this so it might be a good way to start.

Great idea, but I can't see the aul funding the idea, linesmen are always a great idea, problem is the cost, on average a senior game costs €120+ for officials

I hear you about cost , but I was hoping to cut cost's by using it as a training tool for ref's getting into the game or even if the linesman wheren't full refs . A lot of guys wouldn't man running the line as opposed to being the ref . Ref is 46 euro a game I think if you could get 2 lads to run the line for 25 a head I don't know lots of ifs and buts . I have never attended an aul agm or meeting so don't know how it operates etc do they listen to clubs ?? Are they willing to try things out ??? Or are they just happy plugging along ???

There really are some great football men on the aul committee, as with everything it always needs to be freshened up with new vision ideas etc... I have no doubt the aul committee would be delighted to get some fresh faces onto there committees etc
