Sorry for the delay folks there was an acute lack of power down here in West Cork.

This was the second time I have seen the AUL side this season. I have to admit they impressed me more last night than they did on my previous occasion watching them. One thing that's very apparent and stuck out was their overall mobility. Whilst there was always mobility as such there seemed to be a lot more fluidity about it as they were able to take it into the 5th and 6th stage last night and this was ultimately their best attribute. Conditions were difficult for both sides with a desperate breeze but the AUL team coped much better with this. We conceded early from a well taken goal and struggled to match the pace of the game which was set by the AUL side throughout. Whilst its easy to recycle the ball in the wide areas they dont seem to worry to much about turning inside and looking for the gaps. This to me shows that the team in general has a lot of confidence and in young zico up top they have a fair degree of skill but buckets of cuteness Hes very intelligent and seems to find space naturally in areas that's usually hard to find space. He took his goals well and worked very well in both the inside and outside channels.

With a game coming up this weekend there was definitely a spring in the step of the aul team with a lot of players looked hungry for the ball and despite the on the ball talent available they were all prepared to do the hard work off it such as chasing hard and closing down at every opportunity. We didn't really test the AUL side in front of goal last night so I couldn't really comment too much on that aspect of the side. They're ability to retain the ball is a good defensive aspect to their game and they have the right players in the squad that should the sleeves need to be rolled up and hard work required. I don't really want to say too much negatives about the AUL side (there were only one or two) but after the game when I spoke to Donal he was aware of them and with people from the Clare team reading this post I wouldn't really want to say to much so feel free to PM.

I would expect Clare to keep it solid for the first 20 at least before conceding any space going forward out and the lads will need to show a bit more patience on the ball and not try to force things too much. If this is the case I would expect the likes of Darren lynch to come of the periphery of games and start getting more involved. From experience Clare will go toe to toe with a lot of boys so the individual battles will be important as will the third man running they displayed so very well last night . I'm sticking my neck out and knowing what the Clare league squad is like I would go 3-1 to the home side. In summary a side who have undoubtedly improved following each game they have played together. Technically very good as well with a strong mix of experience and what I would call special talent (those players with the ability to produce that something special out of nothing). They definitely have the ability and tools to hurt any team they come up against.

From a Leeside perspective Ill always try to find the best in every situation. It was a good tough game for us. We didn't cope well with conditions and certainly didn't match the AUl side for hunger. We kept our shape though and if anything made it hard for the AUL side in the second half. We were let down in a lot of occasions by individual mistakes but we continued to try an play the ball as we have done in training and in previous games this season. Young 16 year old Ben Riordan from the club managed to play the last 10 minutes last night and is a massive talent at the club so it was good to introduce him into this sort of game and no doubt he will have enjoyed the experience. He didnt let us down at all. The plans on the drawing board remain the same for Leeside and this result wont call for any alteration. On behalf of all at Leeside we wish the AUL side the best of of luck for the saturday... My advice for those reading this from Co Clare who are travelling saturday...Bring a coat, scarf and hat!!!!!

If it's anything like last week in Blarney, it would be better to travel by Ark.

Strange one alright. I take it ye didn't see it coming. Big loss for ye. Capable of winning a game on his own.

Lads, just wanted to inform ye in case ye didn't already know. We were in front of the committee yesterday and they mentioned that EVERY TEAM needs written permission from the AUL to play in a friendly. It was honestly news to me but the most worrying thing is that if the friendly is not authorised by the AUL then insurance and PLI don't cover players or supporters as it's not a sanctioned game. Just wanted to bring it up as I assume 99% of teams don't look for permission.

Leftside, were ye summond by the AUL ? In all my years playing i have never heard this ruling ?

Goodluck to the AUL on Sunday, hopefully we can progress to the next stage.
Condolences to Boscos on the recent loss of a former player from Carrigtwohill FC.
