They don't have a choice. Chelsea were paying Villas Boas and Di Matteo for a few months. In fact Chelsea are usually paying at least two managers given how often they're sacked. It's only until Kenny agrees to a settlement, which he seems to be (rightfully) digging his heels in on.

I'm not 100% sure Croly would be able to be described as "manager" though. He might have to be a Director of Football or a General Managar or something until Kenny is gone.

I think Charlie has this one right. As long as shams are paying Kenny they can avail of his services as much or as little as they wish. To pursue a constructive dismnissal case he would have to walk away from his contract. Also far from uncommon for EPL teams to be paying managers (and occasssionally players) long after they have left

Most likely possibility is that Kenny wants to seek another job and therefore wants to terminate his contractual relationship with shams (by reaching agreed settlement). Shams are playing handball by not agreeing a severance package (by continuing to pay him as per contract) thereby hoping to push him into a more reasonable settlement.

This is of course speculation as without knowing the terms of his contract it is impossible to be sure. Wioll be very interesting (but unlikely) if neither side blind and details role out in court.

Interesting choice if true. No Managerial experience, though that doesn't mean he won't make it work. What do the Rovers lads on here think about the appointment?

I'd have preferred Russell but I think he's the next best choice. He knows the club, was part of the successful seasons despite walking away and is well-versed in playing attractive, winning football. And if he can cajole in Forrester, O'Connor, Browne, Bermingham and Carroll I wouldn't be unhappy.

Nail on the head I'd guess. I'm sure SK doesn't want to spend the next two years out of the managerial merry-go-round.

    Oh,and Trevor who ??
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

Browne has signed for Saints again for next season, and if you want either Forrester or Carroll, get the wallet out

I imagine Shams signed Kenny as Manager and hiring Laws no matter what weasel words were used to describe his role, the substantive part of his job was to manage Shams, I would say SK is getting his retaliation in first before other creditors appear.

After an end of season review by the new Board of Management at Dundalk Football Club, the Club has made a decision not to renew the contract of Darius Kierans for the 2013 season.

Dundalk Football Club has placed the recruitment of an experienced manager to prepare for the 2013 season at the top of our priorities.
