Pats clash with Glentoran live on Setanta Sports

Setanta will broadcast the Setanta Cup First Round match between St Pat's and Glentoran on Monday, February 11th with kick off at 19:30.

The channel will screen seven matches live during the 2013 competition up to and including the final and a decision on which first round second leg tie is to be shown live will made by the broadcaster following the first leg games. The draw for the quarter-finals will take place immediately following the completion of the First Round.

The Setanta Sports Committee has also agreed to introduce six match officials for the semi-finals and the final with the extra cost being borne by the Referees Departments of the Football Association of Ireland and the Irish Football Association.

The Northern Irish cup games were on today, and none of them ended in draws. Therefore the 2nd leg Setanta Cup games are now confirmed to go ahead on Monday Feb 18th.

Looking at the highlights of the cup games on BBC earlier and some of the pitches are in pretty poor condition up north. Shamrock Park was particularly bad, more like a mud bath around the boxes and centre of the pitch.

What sort of crowds are expected for these 4 games? A combined attendance of 8k would be good I think. Cork and rovers should get 2k plus in the gate anyway.

Monday night games are tough to predict in Cork. Could be 2k, could be 1200.

Cliftonville are a great price to beat cork, 13points clear at the top of their own league and mud season against a cork side in pre season and fighting to get paid to play this game!!

It's hard to say for our game. First game back so a lot of people will be up for that but the poor weather combined with the fact that the game is on tv and that Liverpool are on tv will lead to a poor enough home crowd. Glentoran I think are expecting to bring about 300 down so I'd say about 1,200 altogether
    Here on a technicality.

well everyone bar Hoggy, Denis and Dunleavy has at least 90 minutes played. No one has more than 90 minutes except for Eoghan Murphy.

This fight to get paid stuff is ******.

It really is wide open. LOI clubs should be stronger but there isn’t much between Sligo, Rovers, Derry, Drogheda and Pats. Cliftonville have beaten Pats the past 2 seasons and Crusaders are the holders. So 7 out of 12 will think they can win it. Probably 8, as Cork fans will always think they can win everything.
Its funny cos its true. Cliftonville are the toughest team we could have gotten at this stage, but they have their fingers in a lot of pots, and if we manage to get past them you never know. We have a very good record in this competition, and its got to be the only reason we've brought Denis back.
