Ryan Connolly from Sligo to us apparently. Anyone able to shed any light on where he plays and if he's any addition?

Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
He's been pretty poor for us anytime he's gotten a run
Nowhere near good enough for any Premier Division team. Doubt he'd do much in First either.
When he signed we were expected to have this Djilali-like speedy, skilful winger but instead we got a kid who didn't want the ball. He's OK when there's 30 yards of space in front of him but put him under any sort of pressure at all and he doesn't want to know.
Connolly mainly played on the wings for us anytime he got a game but can play CM (which he done in a friendly), He's fit and will battle for ya but dont be expect him to be beating players galore or whiping in great crosses.

Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!
It's a significant step down he's taking to be fair so he may have more of an impact. We'll see.

Rumours here that Trabzonspor have made an approach for Shane McEleney, who impressed their manager during our matches with them. Would be a great move for him if true.
Great news for him if true. Pity he's defected to the beggars up north.
Sligo Rovers F.C.
Sligo Rovers winger Ryan Connolly will join Longford Town on loan until the end of the season.
Connolly makes the move to the First Division high flyers after a year with the Bit o’ Red, having made 31 appearances.
Colm McLaughlin has also left Rovers by mutual consent. He was previously part of underage teams in The Showgrounds and was a member of the senior squad.
The club wish both players well for the future and thank them for their valued contribution to Rovers.
Pity he is going to spend most of the matches watching the ball fly a mile above his head so we'll probably never find out.
Last signing we got from sligo rovers was a certain Tom King in 09 and he turned out to be a super signin! give the lad a chance! at least its not his older brother Evan we are signing who was poor for us!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
Talk on facebook of ex Limerick and Athlone player Jason Hughes moving to Limerick from Ballynanty Rovers for a fee believed to be in the region of 5.25 million pounds.
We're also in for two Spanish centre halfs, Carel Tiofack and Gareth Bale.
