They are 3 good signings by Athlone, Curran has good potential at 1st divison level especially if he works harder at his game.

Was told that a Mervue official said that no matter what happens this season both Mervue and Salthill are leaving the league and going to the Connacht League

Guitd will know more about it than me but I would be astonished if either drop out mid-season considering Eamon Naughton has bent himself out of shape to get their votes. Don't see them being around after this season all right, but they can forget about a sweetener if they jump overboard mid-season.

Stephen O'Flynn played for Harps reserves against Derry tonight in Shakes Quigley Memorial Cup.

Looks like he'll end up signing.

We'll soon see in the coming weeks I suppose. There's talk of a bit of a clear-out of players at Finn Park to make room for a signing or two, so time will tell.

I've no idea how true or false that is however, a lot of rumours going about here.

He might prefer to have the money now or shortly rather than picking up a small amount each week playing for Harps. He play with still perhaps play with Harps Reserves in the USL as an amateur.
