Great goals from around the world...

Odd that we don't have a thread like this... but here goes.

Stadium looks crazy. A bit like Braga's.

Thierry Henry, ole big hands himself showing he's still got it. Last 2 goals are nice, then again, it's Toronto and Darren O'Dea:
"Jacques Santini...will be greeted in every dugout of the country by "one-nil, one-nil" - Clive Tyldsley, 89th minute of France-England June 13, 2004.
"Ooooohhhh Nooooooo" Bobby Robson 91st minute.

This one might have passed unnoticed
Euro u21 play off, Scotland were 2 goals down to Iceland and were all but dead and buried. They needed to score a goal badly.
And then Chris Maguire did this

    Scotland still died though.

The nominees for the Goal of the Year have been announced.

Have to say, I like this award. Particularly as more and more games are videoed, the range of goals can be quite far and wide (like yer man from Glentoran last year)

Edit - number 6 from Bolivia is a super goal.

That was the 2nd leg, Scotland lost 1-2 (agg 2-4)

What you don't see there is that Iceland scored first, a sublime strike by Gylfi Sigurdsson and the Iceland goalie (losing his head in exuberant appreciation) had run all the way up the pitch to join the celebrations. Maguire at the kick off, spotted that he hadn't made it back.
Sigurdsson scored again a few minutes later, to vanquish the brief Scottish uprising.

A rather spectacular 88th-minute winner scored from 70 yards by Mor Diouf for SuperSport United versus Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa's top division on Sunday afternoon: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21775416

SuperSport United won the game 1-0.

Ronaldo & Bale eat your heart out... how about this 40 yard rocket in to the top corner... keeper's reaction says it all..

An honourable mentionin in the great goal category from Gylfi Sigurdsson (Slovenia V Iceland), from a free kick just at the 'right' distance outside the box. Not just a plain up and down effort, this shot had a high lift, struck with perfection.

As the commentator said, that was brilliant.
