    The Future !!!

Think its time to look at the situation.

    eL Premier Division P Pts
    St. Patricks Athletic 25 31
    Shamrock Rovers 25 29
    Derry City 24 28
    Longford Town 23 27
    Dublin City 25 18

    Recent Form (Last Three Games)
St. Patricks Athletic LWW - 6 Pts
Shamrock Rovers LLL - 0 Pts
Derry City LDW - 4 Pts
Longford Town LWW - 6 Pts
Dublin City DLD - 2 Pts

I have only included the last three games cause the first two have been written off, Roddy has completely changed the side since the two defeats against Pats and Derry.

We could have snatched a victory in Cork and a draw in Drogheda, we were fairly lucky against Bohs, but some excellent goalkeeping and defending saw us collect a point. So while only 2 points was our lot, it could have been five, not saying that is a valid reason, just our recent form has been slightly better than the two points, as apposed to Rovers who have been awful by all accounts.

Rovers have an eleven point lead on us. We have to play them twice, assuming we defeat them twice, (we have to do to have any chance, so for the purposes of this exercise i'm going to say that.) we have a five point gap to overcome, (six really cause of the goal difference) so with the remaining nine games (excluding the two rovers games) we need to close a six point gap. It is going to be a challenge, but it's not insurmountable. We have to face Champions Shels on monday in what has been a purple patch for them, not having managed a win in any of their latest four domestic games and might be forgiven for having one eye on their clash with Lille.

We are good enough to collect a point on Monday, that would be a huge confidence boost, taking a draw from the three best teams in the league last season over the course of four games would be a fair achievement for the bottom side.

Whatever our fate, don't think that Dublin City will go down lightly, we have no intention of raising the white flag just yet, and will fight to the bitter end. Think the game against Rovers on the final day of the season will be a cracker, and could see one of the biggest names in Irish Soccer facing the drop. The next twelve weeks shall be very interesting.

When ye are relegated at the end of the season, what happens to ye then. With Roddy decimating your squad, and with him getting so many players in on short term contracts, there isnt much hope of ye bouncing right back is there?

Not to mention the fact that its unlikely Palmer/Ekoku/Rowlands etc would hang around to play in the glamourous 1st division.

I know that Bohs only managed a draw with DC on Thursday but, I though that you had really disimproved since the other two games against Bohs and from what i heard, Roddy's first game in charge against Pats. I think it's over for you lot.

I'd keep this sort of thread on the official site, Breif, I can hear knuckles dragging their way north in its direction already.

I said when you played us on the first day of the season that I thought you'd stay up, and from what little I've seen of you this season you've been unlucky at times and very very good at times. My opinions changed recently though.

But i do think it's over for you since Roddy's arrival, though it's much to do with Pat's hitting a bit of form, relying on their talented youngsters while Roddy goes for 'experience'. Robbie Doyle has already scored more goals for Pat's than Ekoku will for you I'm afraid

In the end, the fact that you've done poorly against Pat's, Derry and Longford will be what relegates you.

To be honest, I can't even see you gaining on the teams above you, let alone catching them.

I really think you can catch us. Don't see us winning another game. We've lost 4 on the trot in the League and 5 out of 6 overall. We were beaten by **** poor Bohs and Pats teams in our last 2 games.

If Roddy can hype up his mercenaries for the Rovers game in 2 weeks time then we're in serious trouble.

Your future is bleak whatever way you look at it.

Yout Chairman has gambled in the short term for your long term future.

Chances of not getting relegated were slim before Roddy brought in the short term boys. Ye are likely to get relegated so wioll have no manager or virtually any players for the 1st division. I'd also expect be harder to entice players to CHF cos of way guys treated by Roddy & surtely ye as supporters will also feel cheated by manner team been destroyed?
