Draw a fair result in match of very few chances in Galway tonight. Wexford were in fact the less creative of the two sides and cannot complain about the dropped two points. With Joey suspended and Danny unavailable, Wexford started with Graham, Brian, CJ, Jamie, Corkey, Deano, Crokey, Glenn, Rocks, Shane and Tom up front. The game started with lots of endeavour on both sides but little quality in either final third and more or less continued in the same vein from then on. After 15, the Mervue ten got a yellow for a tackle. With 18 gone, Deano hit a free on target from thirty out but Hanley in the Mervue goal was able to save comfortably. Mervue managed a good move midway through the half but the shot was dragged wide from about 25 yards out. After 25, Glenn picked up a yellow for a tackle. Best chance of the half fell to Mervue on the half-hour when the ball broke to an attacker from a Mervue corner but his shot was blocked on the line by a Youths defender and Wexford were able to clear it away. A couple of long-range efforts by Mervue finished the half and 0-0 at half-time after a poor enough half.
