Nothing far fetched about it - obviously there is, but for the sake of fun, do it. The Mount have a squad full of players with LOI experience, most gave up cos of the ridiculous hours involved for little reward and for family reasons. Drew with a very strong Cork City side on the Monday before beating Monaghan comfortably. It was a much tougher game then the Mons one.

Only prob for Rockmount is that they are missing the captain and maybe the goal poacher they found in pre season.

With nothing to lose on the night, it will obviously take one of those days to see them win, you know where Waterford play bad and Mount all play out of their skins kind of night....but stranger things have happened. They don't concead much, but obviously Waterford score a lot...all on the night, a cracking game in prospect....
The above is all opinion and based on personal experience. Unless stated otherwise it is not a dig at anybody, well probably none of you lot.

I'd say the same but Derry to win it, If Derry get to the final i'd say they'll take it. Other than that .... Drogs, Longford and Waterford .... but thats just on paper, predictable call.

I hope to god it is a good game .... If it is on the telly, it needs to be a good game.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Ignore Max Power, he is no more, the future is Ron Burgundy. I'd love to be Ron Burgundy but they won't let me........

Was in the bray area last night and went to the match and have to say i didnt think much of ucd but as people are saying in the cup anything can happen but i think on our current run of form it would be hard to see us losing, and going back to pineapple stu's comments about cork being stronger we've played them twice a nd got a draw down there with 10 men and a comfortable win in united park.

We have a strong chance because we are a cup team. We can beat anyone home or away, we have a strong defence and have a gritty nature, so grinding out a one nil is very possible. UCD away is tricky and ensure we are not over confident, in the end we shall progress. Longford and Derry are the danger and I think Rockmount will make it tougher for Waterford than most expect. I think we will get by whoever we meet in the semi, maybe Derry in Utd park, proceed to meet Longford in the final where I just dont know yet, but you guys will be the first to know when I do .

Would I be right in thinking that if team loses Drogheda in the final, and Drogheda qualify for the Setanta Cup by finishing 1st or 2nd in the League, the losing finalists would be given the Setanta Cup place? Or would it go to the 3rd placed team in the League?

No harm, yis have a class chance this year and all (and if $hel$ make an arse of their job against Dublin City eyebrows will be raised and questions asked as to the chances of a league title) but on what grounds do you base the above statement on? If there was a team in the league that I would say WASNT a cup team it would be Drogheda. As far as I know ye have 1 league cup. Anyhoo I'm nit pickin' ye have a good chance of the cup this year!!

Im not taking historically here, I said why I think we are a cup team in my post. We are a tough team to beat so this quality is better in the cup than the league. Take Longford for example, better suited to a knock out competion than a league format. I think we shall prove it over the next five years providing we keep the nucleus of the team together.

Third in the league gets it if the cup winners qualify through the league.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

From harsh experience (in Championship Manager...), I think the UEFA spot only goes to the runners-up if the Cup winners wualify for the Champions' League. Otherwise, it goes to the third-placed team in the league as well.
