TV Mini Series
I got my hands on 'Hit and Miss' this week so hope to get to watch it soon, meant to be really good so will report back once done. I dunno is it stopping at just one season or not though.
Anyone know of any other Mini Series out there worth watching?
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Band of Brothers is the king of recent miniseries. It follows one of the most celebrated paratroop companies in WWII from training to being surrounded for days with almost no shelter, food or ammunition definding Bastogne in freezing conditions during the Battle of the Bulge and just beyond the end of the war.
I'm a Generation Kill fan too. It's from the guys behind The Wire. It's surprisingly funny at times, and interesting to see US troops from that angle. It takes place from just before the invasion of Iraq to a few weeks later.
I, Claudius is an old BBC miniseries following the marvelously convoluted murders and political manoevering around the Roman emperorship.
I recently finished Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy too. Based on a John La Carre novel, it's the story of George Smilie, brought out of retirement to find the mole in British intelligence who managed to get him fired in the first place. Alex Guinness is, as ever, superb.
You can't spell failure without FAI
Not sure if it's really a mini series (12 or 13 episodes as I remember) but Our Friends In The North - a BBC production from the mid nineties is superb. Follows a group of 4 Geordie friends from the mid sixties to the mid nineties. Quite political, but don't let that put you off. Takes in a lot of the landmark social events from that period in Britain, but does it all in the context of a group of characters worth watching. Great cast too - Christopher Eccleston, Daniel (James Bond) Craig, Gina McKee and Mark Strong play the 4 friends - Nicky, Mary, Tosker and Geordie. I'd highly recommend it.
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.
Give Generation Kill a go. Watched it a few years ago and thought really highly of it. It's a look at a group of US Marines engaged in the invasion of Iraq with an ill-prepared embedded reporter following their movements and interactions. It's seven episodes long in total and was written by David Simon and Ed Burns of The Wire fame, so thankfully devoid of both the clichéd moralising or triumphalising you might expect from some American productions on the issue of war.
Anyone seen The Corner? It's another mini-series from the guys who wrote The Wire; like a mini The Wire, if you will.
