Hey all I'm just looking for a method of selecting teams for the FAI Cup?

I'm assuming its:
All league sides (20 Teams)
Intermediate Cup Semi Finalists (16 Teams)

What's the story with Junor clubs in the FAI, how do they get into the cup? Or is that no longer possible?

Last 8 in Intermediate Cup and Last 4 in Junior Cup plus the 20 league clubs = 32

Not 100% but it's something like that.

Selling more vantage tickets than one of those 16 can get you a spot too I hear.

It has changed fromyears past but this year saw the last 16 in the 2011-2012 Intermediate cup and the Last 4 in the 2011-2012 Junior Cup enter.

In the first round there were 8 ties and 4 teams received a bye

That gave 12 qualifiers for the second round, added to 20 league clubs, to give 32

Last year it was the Last 16 of Intermediate, last 4 of Junior and 4 (non reserve) A league sides. They had a first round of only 2 ties, a second round of 11 ties to qualify 11 teams to join the 21 league clubs

And next year it'll be changed all over again.
