How on earth Limerick put 6 past Wexford, who in turn put 6 past the Gusties is beyond me.

Anacotty is a big advantage for us.

Athlone are one of the strongest 19s sides I've seen in a few years as well in fairness, we'll win a lot more than we'll lose over the course of the season.

From what I heard annacotty was the teams downfall last year. We were great on the astro but got caught on the poorer pitches.

I wouldn't say that they cant win on grass seeing as they won 5 out of their 8 away games last year on grass and beat waterford this year in a preseason friendly on grass.

As for Atfconlines concerns about how they put 6 pass wexford, well if you saw the team play last year they were decent. They narrowly missed out on promotion and along with cobh and tralee finished with a sizeable gap between themselves and the rest of the teams.

Although Athlone deserved the win that was a fairly silly comment.

We scored two, had one disallowed, one off the line and a few good chances besides.*

It's not like we did nothing all game.

*Having said that we didn't test what looked like a fairly poor keeper nearly enough. I'm sceptical about the 4-2-3-1 at that level, too often if they game is tight you just end up horsing it at a lone man with no support/dribbling down blind alleys out wide.

Exactly, he was rubbish. Lobbed from 40 yards when he didn't look that far off his line. Spilled two simple balls that should have both resulted in goals and flapped at everything he came for. Other than the OG, Limerick didn't have that many chances.

Not gloating or anything, I was genuinely surprised that Limerick didn't do better having scored 6 in the previous game. That's all. Well, on top of that, I'm just not used to seeing us do well!
