Kildare County’s promotion hopes suffered a potentially mortal blow at Station Road on Saturday night when Galway United took all three points courtesy of two goals from in-form striker Damien Dupuy.
The Frenchman, Galway’s Player of the Month for July, netted twice in the space of four second half minutes as Tony Mannion’s side closed the gap on fourth-placed Kildare to a single point.
