Sligo hold on for win
Sligo Rovers emerged victorious with a 1-0 win over Limerick at the Showgrounds last night.
Sean Purcell scored the only goal of the game midway through the first half. John Healy in the Limerick goal had saved an initial effort from Colin Heffernan but Purcell was on hand to drive the ball home.
Sligo Rovers : Rouse, Miller, Carr, Cassidy (Cretaro 67), Heffernan, McTiernan, Purcell, Feeney, McCartney, Foley, McNamara.

Sligo Rovers 1-0 Limerick FC
Sean Purcell fired Sligo Rovers to the first of the 12 victories they need to have any chance of making the promotion zone at the Showgrounds on Saturday night, in the process ending Limerick FC’s five-match unbeaten run.
Captain Gerry Carr had asserted that they need to win all their remaining games in order to have any chance of closing the 21-point gap on the top three.
