Big games for both Midlands teams this weekend heading into the next El Classico on the 31st.

If we lose that our season is over and a loss for Longford would see title challenge finished and possibly second spot all but gone and the home advantage in play off gone. There is also a small possibility although unlikely of losing third place.

Three points vital for both teams every week on the run in.

I hope we'll see a reaction to last week but we usually have trouble with Mervue. If we play at a high tempo and get at them we should win. We can forget any thoughts of the title though at this stage. Given our home form, I'm not sure it'd be such a big advantage being at home in the play off. Though going down there would be tough, they'd get a big crowd out for that one.

Aren't the playoffs usually played with first one on a Saturday and the next one on the following Tuesday...the only advantage I can think of having our second game at home is that we'd get a bigger crowd going down to Waterford for the away match..
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

I dont fancy us at all and think we will drop points again. I am afraid to say it but they never seem to learn from their mistakes!

Good result for us tonight we have to win tomorrow for confidence if nothing else. The crowd will be crap no doubt but we just have to do it.

Good win, good performance. As ever though, we missed so many chances. Pretty spectacular strike from Purdy, he must have been nearly 40 yards out. Gary Shaw was excellent again I thought. Everybody was comfortable really, they didn't offer a lot.

Thought Kirbs didn't have a great game but he came into it more in the last twenty minutes or so. The legs are going though, what is he 35 now? Bayly should be getting even better the more games he plays, he missed a fair bit of football this year. At times it was too easy for him and he'd try something spectacular when a simpler pass was on but overall he was running the midfield.

Yeah Hope and McDonagh are a very good partnership, hopefully the knock McDonagh took isn't too serious. He's a real threat from set pieces too.

Kirbs came into it more 2nd half and his dribbling and footwork started to come back to him which was great to see. McDonagh was on a card and putting crunching tackles in so that's more the reason he came off he will be fine especially with a 2 week break now on for us.

Bayly's is without doubt goal of the season we can safely safely say it wont be beat.

I wasnt at the game but the lads the other night had his goal in the top three! As for Daniel Purdys goal the other nite without a shadow of a doubt I think it is the best ever LTFC goal scored in flansiro!

well Martinho11 the best goal ever scored in flancare imo was from a home grown player know locally as "fitzy", I believe it was in a under 16 game for de town and was an absolute screamer so the legend goes...
