I never ever said Waterford were the better side.
Dundalk made sure that their escape on Tuesday would not be in vain.
Waterford lost the tie on Tuesday, playing 60 minutes against 10 men with a makeshift centre half pairing and not winning the game comfortably.
They lack a killer instinct, which was obvious again tonight.
I'd love to see Waterford in the Premier. I don't think a seven club (if you can call all of them clubs) division will work.
I'm not going to change my mind on that just because Dundalk have survived.

Don't think he said anything about who was the better team. Perhaps he is disappointed that Waterford didn't come up as it would mean shorter away trips for him as he is a ccfc fan?
Hint: The clue is probably in the name and avatar!!
Edit: He has responded himself.
Both Waterford and Dundalk should be in the Premier division. Not wishing to go off topic, but the plans for the first division are shambolic.
Also agree re next years FD, and also not changing my mind from my view that a single division would have been a better option.
It would have brought teams and areas like Athlone, Donegal & Waterford back to life and given those areas such a boost.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).
Huge numbers last night were great (biggest FD team gate of the season?), but average was under 500 according to the attendance thread. You worry that, even if Waterford remain in the league, the enthusiasm after last nights game will plummet.

Waterford appear to be doing many of the things needed to get people through the gates; young local players, attractive playing style, and great facilities. (I went to the toilet in the new stand before the game and thought I wandered into a five star hotel).
Rather than encouraging their development, the current plans stifle them.
Congrats to Dundalk, deserved the win last night, no complaints. Definitely agree that we lost the tie on Tuesday, not taking an advantage home from that game cost us in the end.
Regarding the chairman's comments about not being in the league next season, people need to realise that he doesn't have that power to pull the club, he doesn't own the club. He can choose to leave the club and step down as chairman if he wishes. But i do agree with him, you'd be mad to put money into a club in a shambles of a seven-team division next season.
I’m not pedantic...I’m merely overly concerned with minute details.
Hooray for Dundalk!
They did learn to defend!
Burns was immense, Shields I think it was (??) did a job on Dempsey in the middle, Waterford were one dimensional rubbish, Dundalk much the better side. Surprising lack of heart and fight from the Waterford players too, once it went 2-0 it could have ended 5 or 6.
As for next season the cynic in me says that Dundalk and Bray should still be worried about the visit of the fudge truck during the off season .

Do you all give each other blowjobs too?
"Ah no, I would like to see both clubs up!"
"It's only because its a shorter away trip for me."
"Now I'm not saying I don't like Oriel."
"I want both clubs up"

Sporting F*ck All!
And after all that.....Darius makes way for the man to finally bankrupt the club. Step forward the man in Louis Copeland's finest. Christ wept!
Do Dundalk fans feel Darius deserved to be in charge next season? He seemed to be liked by the players.
Haha, yeah BWA, could do. Just had an awful thought, Pat Dolan wears some sort of pinstripe stuff. But I'd have him in after SK. Don't feel overly bad for Darius, he did a job, got some experience and should be happy to be out.
