Saw on de box tonight, (on Play It Again Des), the hat trick that Miah Dennehy got against Waterford in the 1972 FAI cup final.
Most of that Hibs team gathered at da cross for the 30th anniversary of the game, and were presented to the crowd at half time.
Is Miah Dennehy still around Cork, does anyone know? Is he still involved in football as a coach or something? Just curious.

Aaaagh I would love to have seen that. Unfortunately I live in the US at the moment. Those directors who let HIBS go under should have been put up against a wall and shot.
Not to dwell on the past though it is great to see a whole new crop of domestic football fans in Cork again who love and follow their team with such intensity.
Looking forward to getting down to the Box again soon

Sigh. Haven't heard Turners Cross called the Box in a while. Cork Celtic played their home games there, didn't they?Originally Posted by SunnySweeney

Yeah Celtic played in de Box, Hibs at de Lodge - always well supported and the derbies were especially superb. Times move on though and again I don't want to dwell on the past . From afar, and I have been reading these boards since Hoof.ie, I get the sense that Cork football will reach new heights on and off the field in the next couple of years , so keep it going lads ...
See you all soon at the X / de Box

Last time I saw Miah, he was working in Flaherty's. Think he's still there.
He must be in his mid 50s!!!Originally Posted by thecorner
