With North out for the season Quigley may be the one to keep sligo on track. He certainly pops up with important goals. Wonder will he still have a boo-boy brigade by seasons end...

    Mervue 0-1 Waterford.

Waterford would be 1 point behind Longford if it stays like this. Makes the run-in very interesting. Hopefully Harps can put a spanner in the works over the next 2 weeks, with Longford and Limerick being the next two games for us.

Don't know where the goals are going to come from......

Excellent performance from us. I think our 2 best performances this season have been against the Drogs. Maybe Shams at home as well. Hard to see Ventre getting back into that team ahead of Conneely and Cawley

Someone said Drogheda are title contenders?

Amen...with Cook gone...his number has to be up...with North out Baraclough was forced deploy the most attacking side...the over reliance on North to bail out a ponderous midfield has seen Ventre being left in the side...but with North out Baraclough seems to have been forced to see the light...he dropped Lynch and I just hope Ventre doesn't get a first-team place.. now he has to either drop Gaynor (or put him further up pitch - the man's a total liability) and put Davoren back in [if injury free] and hopefully the Bit-a-Red can take the league...

Agreed on everyting but this. Gaynor crucified Drogheda up the left from early on. He might not have much of a defensive game but he gave us a huge amount going forward with the willingness and ability to play fast, accurate, early ball through midfield. I thought early in the season we'd regret signing him but not any more.

He's defended as bad as Davoren has this year and offers more going forward

No, the suspension has seen Ventre left out of the side.

Can't believe we still have people questioning Danny's contribution to the team. Yes Cawley and Conneeley played very good together last night but it's not as if Ventre doesn't either. I would expect Danny back in the side for the Shams game, although wouldn't be surprised either way, but to say "his number has to be up" is very disrespectful to a player who has given so much to Rovers.

It's not disrespect its my honest appraisal - I'll acknowledge this season has probably been his best, but fact of the matter is at the top of the LOI he is out of his depth and always has been.

I have held this view for many's a season and everybody knew he was coz Cooke and Ventre were tight that it was a big factor in Ventre getting into the best footballing side in the country, when Ventre [who is regarding for tough tackling etc] was anything but.

We are not the finished article in midfield - it's our weakest point. Cawley has good feet and takes a great shot, but sits back far to deep. Joe continues to overplay the ball hence our midfield is willing to pass backward without any quick option being presented up front. Lynch was dropped. Dillon can't get in. Yet Ventre who couldn't pick out a pass to save his life is made captain - do me a favour. As for bottle -- his effort in looking for a peno against Spartak, exposes a certain lack of.

Ironically, with North out, Baraclough has to recognise he has to load-up front - this will see a more balanced and attacking side. Yesterday's game was one of the team's most composed and accomplished.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
