Don't forget O'Leary out too. Barr gamble being suspended I hope this isn't the start of a
Big injury list like last season.

Won't be an easy game but we shouldn't be apprehensive going up there either, overall our results have been good this season, we've yet to drop points to any of the clubs outside the top three which is easily forgotten at times. Athlone will sit deep and will be tough to break down but over ninety minutes you'd hope we'd have the guile to crack them open at least once. O'Leary, Gamble and Bradley all out together is a bit unfortunate, McGrath looks a terrific prospect but I think he's a bit light for a central midfielder at the moment.
The ball is round and has many surprises.

Not a hope would i move Gaffney back out to the wing he is nowhere near as good out there and imo we are nowhere near as much a threat when he is not up front. Also think Behan could do with being dropped. Treacy is injured too as far as i know.

    Id go with

    Ryan

    Kelly/Kluciar, Guthrie, Paddy, Tracy

    McGrath, Judge, McGann, Brosnan

    Gaffney,Foley

Think it will be tough one but think we will win 2-1 in the end.

Bit rattled after what nearly happened last week and the three lads in the middle being injured/unavailable together is awful luck. If the side digs out an ugly one nil later it would do me fine.

Will be an interesting selection alright. Hopefully he gets it right. One thing I dislike a lot of Scully's selections is he tends to leave a lot on the bench rather than starting the best players available. I would not move Gaffney to the wing but do not want to sit one of Foley, Behan or Gaffney, especially with midfield so under strength. You could go 4-3-3 with Judge, McGrath and Shane T in midfield leaving a right sided player at left full. Danger of getting over run in midfield but the strikers could drop a bit I suppose. Still wouldn't be happy with that but any 4-4-2 we put out will be quite ordinary with an excellent player warming the bench.

Sounds like it was dug out too, going by the updates. Better late ...

Brutal performance but a good finish by Gaffney. We are getting results by the skin of our teeth.

SHocking stuff the hoof ball has crept back into or play over the last few weeks aimless balls just pumped forward frustrated isn't the word Dave Ryan kicking was disgraceful every kick to a athlone player. GOod finish from rory 3pts got only positive huge improvement next week or it Will be another big game loss.

At least another big game loss still leaves us top . . . though either way, we're lacking O'Leary's control and creativity in midfield, as well as Bradley.

Good thing he didn't so or he would have missed the relief and the nice finish from Gaffney

I'd agree. 'Nuff said. Not about the spectacle, mind, however poor it was.
