the LDMC will tell you that only applies for the out of town stages
fairview are playing caherconlish away at 2.00pm sunday
fairview minors are playing balla at 2.00pm sunday in the munster minor
the a team have had at least two of this years minors on the panel for every match this season.
is it not the case that the fai is a club comp. and therefore only the fai match goes on that particular weekend?
the LDMC will tell you that only applies for the out of town stages
well that would be common sense but unfortunately that doesn't exist down there
Yes, its very disapointing. Never actually been to any of these 'astro' games. Will stick to the junior myself. Detest the term astro league and what it represents. Is it as competitive? Is it true there is no offsides between the 18 yard boxs. Are the games even 90 mins? Its a kop out for me, nothing beats goin out on a sunday morning playing on the surface the game is meant to be played on.
Don't get me wrong astro is fine for lads winding down their careers, or lads of lesser ability, but its disappointing to see quality players giving up junior football for a stroll on a wednesday night
Ball Fairy,
in the 2 astro leagues in Sligo off-side is the edge of the 18yard box, games a 30 mis a side, roll on roll off subs...its ideal for the Over 35 player who may not be fit enough or have enough pace to play Junior anymore( I'd certainly fall into this category, but I'm still togging on a Sunday morning too). Its disappointing to see so many young fit and able fellas playing mid-week astro and not Junior, but I suppose circumstances are different for everybody. It's probably a legacy from the boom times were young lads went on the beer for the weekend??
'I can live with disappointment, its the hope I cant handle'

Yes carrig did make them work very hard for it . Carrig were one up at half time but conceded a penalty early in the second half . The winner came in the fifth minute off Xtra time . Park had 65% off the possession but did very little with it due to a hard working back four off carrig . Carrig had chances to win it in normal time but so did park who wasted numerous chances . I think park derserved the win overall but carrig will feel disappointed as they played extremely well .
Can smell a few upsets today in limerick, prem team gone already to a lower division side, more will follow I'd say
Result
Aishling Annacotty 2-3 Granville Rangers
An excellent team performance from our lads last night put us through to the next round at the expense of our Premier division opposition. We lead 2-0 at half time and were full value for it, with goals from Ken O Donoghue and a rather spectacular own goal. The home side raced out of the blocks at the start of the 2nd half and were back level with two quick goals. After that it was an even contest and looked to be heading to extra time, but Cian Byrnes grabbed the winner late on with a fantastic headed finish from a super cross by John Cahill.
A very good win for us, and we look forward to the next round.
The Beautiful Game
Would you know the 2 line ups or who scored for AA thanks
Hill Celtic 0 Carew Park 6, Jonathan Grant 3, Jon sommors, jamie Kelly, kyle mcgrath.
BLown up with 20mins remaining.
St Paul's are a strong physical side and they would put it up to a lot of teams. That's a good result for Summerville. Handy games in limerick from teams in any division are few and far between.
