We don't, but we're trying to work on that. Council should be selling it to us sometime soon. They've a reduced budget and can't afford to keep it going.
Just curious...
How many clubs in the eL own their own grounds (Premier/First Div)?
Kilkenny City have made great strides in their short existance(at the short term expense of a squad) whereas Waterford United will have to pay big bucks to get a plot on the Cork Rd as they have suggested they may do to move away from the restrictive RSC and City Council.
Who is this guy, Trapper Tony?

and please correct me if im wrong which i prob am. The FAI own Dalymount and united park, athlone own mels but have/are selling it, cobh own st slopemans, kilkenny own Buckley, Galway rent, Limerick rent, cork rent, waterford rent, Harps own, sligo lease (100 year lease costing one pound or 1.27 euro per year) Derry rent, Dundalk?? Rovers rent, Pats own, Shels own, UCD own, Bray lease? monaghan own, Longford own/or holding company. Think thats it ive prob got some of them wrong but hea im only making educated guesses.
Sounds about right to me..
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
Bohemian FC own Dalymount Park, not the FAI.Originally Posted by gael353

Yeah we signed a 75 year lease on the Carlisle about 4/5 years agoOriginally Posted by gael353
HOW do people still think that? The FAI own Dalymount
the fai saved dalymount for the gypos some years ago did they not?
re carlisle afaik it was a 35 year lease signed about 4 years ago.
and for harps fans, what is the likeliest plan for finn park? in fairness id love to see harps get promoted for away trip purposes, but that stadium is a joke.has any concrete plan been put in place for the redevolpement or what?
fao derry suppoerters, will dcfc be redevolping the ground any time in the future.. if the whole stadium looked like the "good" stand all the way around the pitch the ground would look great..
Theres an old thread on this somewhere...
If and when the Council sell the Brandy to us, yes. But until then we can't do anything because we don't actually own it, so we can't apply for funding and can't do the work ourselves.Originally Posted by anto eile

Not quite sure myself but I don't think we rent it, the Galway district league own it and just let us use it as no club is assigned to the grounds as its only used for cup finals. For e.g. the new stand which is supposed to be going up !! is a project by the "terryland developement committee". Im ther to be corrected on the ownership of grounds issue. As mentioned above i thought the FAI bought Dalymount many years ago to get Bohs out of a bit of trouble, maybe it has changed hands since...i dont know. On the Harps thing a, harps fan working with me some yars ago said theat the best thing to do for harps was sell or leave Gortakeegan altogether and move to Finn Valley athletic grounds in Donegal town. again im only going and second hand info here and he himself was a ch*#t! UCD hadnt noticed the football club was diff from the college (schlorship thingies and all)
on the harps thing, we were up there recently and a borad member explained the move....it involves a new stadium and the sale of the old one to cover the costs....hope it goes well, great club.
Ignore Max Power, he is no more, the future is Ron Burgundy. I'd love to be Ron Burgundy but they won't let me........
Yeah, a move away from Gortakeegan would be really popular with the fans.Originally Posted by gael353

Dundalk:
Open to correction on this, but Dundalk's ground (Boriel) is owned by the Casey(?) family. No idea what the legal situation is, but the family are supporters for genreations, I doubt very much if any rent is asked for or paid.
Bohs have something like a 100 year lease from the FAI at Dalymount but do not own it according to a Bohs fan i was talking to up there earlier in the season
It hardly matters. Very few continental clubs own thier ground i.e. milan/Bayern/Lazio etc
it does them no harm
