Joint 38th according to the official olympic site. There are two in joint 33rd who didn't qualify though. Not sure what's going on there, maybe they pulled out straight away or something.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

Perhaps we better say no more in case they made a mistake and Cian would lose another medal

I found out answer to my question re Cian O'Connor i.e. 'The Meath man collected 12 faults to share 38th place, but with two of those ahead of him not entitled to compete because only three riders from any nation can take part in the closing stages, he is first reserve along with Belgium's Dirk Demeersman and Argentina's Jose Larocca'

Silver, which I paid for in blood.

And a shaved head. I seem to remember 4 of us getting our photos taken with cops outside Buckingham Palace looking like neo-nazis!

The tweet isn't fake, but it wasn't by Wiggins.

My LaughingBillophobia reached new heights last night following Barnes' opponent head butting him and getting a warning. Bill "the referee missed that...." Luckily there was a panel of 52 ex-boxers to correct him.

Very nervous about Katie's fight. We know Irish sport. Seldom is anything plain sailing (the Estonia qualification game aside). I will watch it with the sound turned down as Jimmy Magee awards her the fight before she even gets in to the ring. Fighting a Russian soldier. God.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

I've been enjoying the Irish commentary, especially Jimmy from Louth. He's acting like he's out of his head, probably realising this is his last Olympics, and going out with the craic. He's never been a particularly good commentator, especially on boxing, but when he said the other night that a fighter was from "Ulaan Bator, the capital of Outer Mongolia" I cracked up. I bet that (won't say it) Nugent was smashing his peeled face off a studio wall. Bill and Jimmy should be retired, Bill is only stirring now, Jimmy is going to get himself into trouble (the slag about the boxer's boots only being visible in a dark room was funny in a 1980's way).

Most probably he didn't take the case to CAS because according to the rules he was 100% guilty regardless of intent.
His punishment was mild (medal stripping apart).
I think we can give the lad the benefit of the doubt because of the manner in which he has dedicated himself to representing Irish equestrian sport, if you can call it a sport.
Thats a good reply geysir, thanks and fair comment.
Of course you also have to take into account that he is telling the truth, and considering his background (his uncle and the like), and his manner of speaking (he could run out of FG in the future) I tend to not trust these kind of people - but yeah thats just me!

Don't know if people watching RTE can see it, but most annoying person in the world is MC-ing the boxing. Wish she'd shut the **** up.

    Come on Katie!
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

Great win, but I don't like how the studio (RTE) have forgotten we had a silver medal 20 years ago too! Man, that was too close! Now I'm in serious trouble, a Tajik yesterday, a Russian today!
