Great performance from macroom.could have won easier but got the job done.suppose if their first team lost could always cheer themselves up by hyping their u14s win.fantastic attitude on macroom line despite trailing twice.good season ahead
You know the way we always have that debate or rant over how do Aul sides compare to Msl sides . So far so good for the aul sides in their first competitive games. So far leeside won first game and so did Kinsale not too sure how Wilton got on . We now can compare the huge gap in aul to msl soccer by following the 3 aul teams that moved to msl would that be a fair reflection between Aul and Msl ?
KILLUMNEY 2-1 GREENWOOD
Great morning out in the farm and a very good game of football, both sides playing good one two touch football on a lovley surface which will suit killumney this season. Killumey went one up with a quick well worked free kick before there new keeper made two good saves as greenwood finished half stronger. Second half fairly even with killumey having more possesion with greenwood lookin dangerous on break. Pressure told and killumney won a pen when greenwood keeper took down CF after a header back was left short, greenwood threw men forward and pulled one back but killumey missed one or two good chances on the break. All in all very enjoyable good spirited game.
That's kilumney into last 8 2 wins and a draw
lads anyone know why there isno aul results posted on the cork aul site ?
Because it's the worst league website in the country. Not Peelo's fault, he gets the info out as best he can but if right was right the AUL would pay a professional to set up a decent website and let Peelo update it. Compare AUL site to MSL or west Cork schoolboys site and you can see the difference. AUL are years behind!
Barrys mother passed away over the weekend, otherwise it would be up to date as always and on time as always Hairy Hands
My Taughts are with Barry Peelo on his loss at the weekend , there is more to life than football RIP
My Condolences to Barry. Radiostar if you read my post you would clearly see its not a pop at Barry, i clearly said the website is **** not the person updating it. The website is in blog format making it very difficult to look up old info and at the start of the season when every tom dick or harry was looking for friendlies the info could be gone off the page in one evening because of the layout of the site. Just have a look at the MSL site and tell me you can compare the two. The two sites are worlds apart. I'm willing to speculate that the AUL is quite happy to leave Barry updating the blog he took over from Billy Lyons as it probably costs them nothing.
my condolences to barry peelo on hes said loss over the weekend
Just remember, every kick makes me stronger and more determined. Indians always come back!
Downloadable forms, better presentation, all team info under one tab, all ref numbers under one tab, overall just a better looking site with all info easily accessible without having to go trawling through old irrelevant info to find what you want. sometimes the posts aren't tagged with keywords making things very hard to find. AUL site looks amateurish compared to professional looking MSL site.
I was looking for a result on Sunday - didnt know what MJL Cup group they were in - had to trawl thorugh 8 groups.
All forms are e-mailed to us, as are all ref and club contacts? Also available down the side of the blog. The AUL blog was nominated for Sports Website award last year. Most of the MSL lads dont like their own website.
Im not convinced by the league replublic format anyway.
We agree to diagree!

any idea how the results went at the weekend anyone have some to post here ??
First my condolences to Barry Peelo & his family.
I don't like the league republic format either but to say that the Cork AUL blog is good I'll agree to disagree with you there.
I would love to see something about half way between both... Where you can pick a club and get all their fixtures/results and/or see individual league tables, and see all results/fixture for a particular weekend (all on seperate pages of course).

Is a pretty good effort.
The league republic format is a nightmare if you don't know what group/division the team you are looking for is in... Especially in the schoolboys league one. Also there is no point to just view all the weekends results...
Are you sure that the CorkAUL blog was nominated for an award? As far as blogs go it is fairly basic compared to some of the sites out there.
Now with a limited exposure to looking after a website I know it is not really something that can be done privately unless the person has the knowledge and has a lot of free time.
The only solutions are 1. a blog. 2. A professionally run site... We have option 1 at the moment, but option 2 costs and you can't keep all the people happy all the time...
