Mileage in some legs, but we didnt gain much from it. We had 11 and me!
You should have seen the fear in Ricky Getting's eyes when he saw me heading out to mark him in the second half!!!!
9 out for various reasons (Most short term) - never too early to make excuses Hairy!!!!
For some of our new guys it was a chance to test themselves against a good side, and for our manager to see that. They did ok - looked comfortable on the ball.
Leeside were good, tiki-taka. Good work ethic. They will face harder tests than us, but they looked ok.
Pitch narrowed by a fair bit - must have heard of my left wing prowess in advance!!
Just remember, every kick makes me stronger and more determined. Indians always come back!
any date when the league matches are starting in the premier?
was that a friendly horse or a legends game how are ye looking this year has derek brought in many did anybody
leave ye.i see the topic of glen celtics line is an agenda if the ref feels players safety or himselfs is in doubt he should abandon the game and let the aul deal with it.you cant blame players for this committees are responsible for what go s
on with in a club.
i dont think il be posting again .we post about football match and it decends in to smut.hate,no wonder cork football in trouble if a footie site being in use for this .thanks all the real football people for the benefit of the doubt..best of luck to all for the new season .
Alrite levelhead, Nothing to read into the Leeside game, had only 10 for the first 20mins incl 2 who came to watch and were carrying injuries. Lost another early second half and the Horse togged off! Didnt want to call it off as Leeside had gone to the trouble of setting it up, ref etc. Good hardworking session for those that were there who gave a commendable display. Will have much better idea after thurs game v Glenthorn with 6 def back. As Bertie once said " Some work done, much more to do"
Good run out for Shandon today a 4-2 win against a Polish team from the Shipping League.
Very happy with pre season a draw against village and a 4-3 defeat to Blackstone other than that a few big wins.
Couple of players in from the Anglers and a few more added to this young squad.
Looking forward to the new season.

Our first pre-season friendly had 2 from the starting eleven that played last game of last season, so that tells its own story. Overall, we have lost a few from last year, brought four or five new guys but the key maybe the return of 5 guys who missed either half or all of last season due to injury. They all look fit and raring to go.
We will be better than last season - thats no doubt. However, so should everyone else because standing still is backwards. 3 promoted sides, Carrig & Kilreen visibly stronger, Kanturk always sticky and norrie derbies with the other 3. Tough season as have been the last 3 in Prem A, but we are happy that we give a good account of ourselves in the season ahead.
Everyone's sideline could be better at times but to be fair, Zico, the accusations thrown at the lines in your club about drinking, unsavoury player abuse and other things have come from neutral sources in most cases. No-one is above reproach but you cant be blind either.
Im just thinking - have Blackstone & Glen Celtic ever met in a fixture, competitive or friendly? How old is Glen Celtic?
I remember a conversation about this before - who is the oldest club in AUL or MSL in its present guise?
Just remember, every kick makes me stronger and more determined. Indians always come back!
zico im not targeting anybody on this you said this is a football site and i agree totally but refs or opposing players should be shown the same respect by all teams .as you say your in the game a long time and its about enjoyment its a release
from the recession i hope.the best of luck to glen celtic and all the teams for the coming season
here you are Greengrass.

Amendments to the laws of the Game - 2012/2013
The 126th Annual General Meeting of the International Football Association Board (IFAB) took place in Surrey (England) on 3 March 2012. The amendments to the Laws of the Game approved at this meeting and the various instructions and directives issued are listed below.
3. Law 4 - The Players' Equipment (submitted by The Football Association)
Present text - stockings
New text - stockings
If tape or similar material is applied externally it must be the same colour as that part of the stocking it is applied to
Reason
An increasing number of players are using excessive amounts of tape externally on their socks. This can be a multitude of colours and completely changes the look of the sock. This can cause confusion, particularly for assistant referees who may need to look at the sock to determine who last played the ball before it went out of play.
Best of Luck to all for the season ahead , cant wait for Saturday to come
