Chris McCann scored for Burnley in the first half today. Header from close in.
Jordan Keegan is making his debut for Scunthorpe against Notts County in the Football League Trophy - it's 1-1 currently. Former Tolka Rovers midfielder Marc Hughes on the bench.

I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
Former Bray Wanderer Jay O'Shea scored a "classy second half strike" to earn MK Dons a 1-1 draw with Notts County.
A good article on Irish players in America. Did wonder what happened to James O'Connor who was at Wednesday. Thanks Alaska and co.

Just found this about Brendan Moloney, started as first choice right back, unfortunately now could go out on loan. I think he needs to possibly move on as he has never got a consistent run at Forest.

From personal knowledge, Brendan is one of the hardest working and most grounded young pro's you'll meet so it's easy to understand why Forest like having him about. Every time he gets a run with Forest the carpet is pulled from beneath him. He was getting regular games before they signed Chris Gunter. Now that Gunter's moved on it looked like he'd get his game, which he did until Hutchinson was preferred.
But, similarly, every time it looks like Brendan has an opportunity to move on, Forest pull the carpet from under that also. Notts County were very eager to sign him on a permanent deal on the back of his loan there a couple of seasons ago. Any time his contract has been close to expiration he has been the subject of plenty League One interest and I think there were 2 Championship clubs in for him last time but Forest tend to renew.
A loan to a Championship club would be ideal, or even a good League One side. Mutual pal of our's follows Brendan any time Forest games are televised and has been impressed with him this season.

Big day for the Irish at Easter Road. Eoin Doyle opened the scoring for Pat Fenlon's Hibs on their way to a 2-0 lead, but Connor Pepper and Richie Foran equalised for Inverness.
Donnelly played for swansea tonight . Did he commit to the north in the end or is he still available to us?
From reading this report from 2 weeks ago, some Irish players are going well with Daniel Devine scoring and Jack Grealish being acknowledged too.

Quick word on the other Daniel Devine; Daniel Devine from Belfast who had been seeing some action with Preston last season as a 19 year-old in the Championship. He was released by Preston in the summer and was signed by Fleetwood Town where he has subsequently become surplus to requirements and is at Wrexham on loan but, in effect, is on trial.

The article mentions Devine having been on Rangers radar. Would have made an interesting move for a Belfast nationalist.
Fair play to Devine he seemed to have over-shadowed Gabby Agbonlahor.
Note that his assists for the two goals came courtesy from Jack Grealish and Jordan Graham. Both players having represented Ireland at underage level with Grealish still in our system while Graham has pledged himself to England.

George O'Callaghan has signed for Dover Athletic. Interestingly, he's teaming up with a few familiar names with Ian Simpemba, Barry Cogan and Daryl McMahon all there, not to mention Terry Dixon. That's surely Ireland's strongest contingent at any non-league club, with Dover playing in the Conference South.
Smith signs a new contract at Watford.

Padraig Amond with his 5th league goal of the season to put Accrington ahead against AFC Wimbledon. He's younger than the 3 strikers ahead of him in the scoring charts and had barely started primary school when Jamie Cureton made his Norwich debut.
well done phillip roberts first senior goal today for inverness
Tommy Hoban started for Watford on Saturday, Murray and connor Smith came of the bench
