Not as far as I know. I think both are still eligible for the U21s, McNamee at least.

can't find any mention of them on fai.ie or soccerscene.ie, other than appearances for Derry, so it looks like they haven't

In fairness, McNamee wasn't even on the scene at Derry until mid-summer when the U21s last played their qualifiers. McLaughlin was just plain overlooked because underage managers tend not to look at domestic players, although we're seeing some change in that regard.

The club confirmed on Wednesday morning that terms had been agreed with Irish club Bohemians for the transfer of defender Kevin Feely.

The deal for the 19-year-old Dublin-born centre-half will take effect on New Year's Day when the transfer window reopens.

McLaughlin from Clonmany in Donegal, I'm fairly sure he's 22.

McNamee is from Ramelton, just outside Letterkenny. Still only 20.

Neither have made international appearances as far as I'm aware.

If I remember correctly Martin Keown has strong Irish links and used to play GAA before joining Arsenal as a school boy. Can be that he is married to an Irish woman but he has two Irish parents too.

Edit: on his wiki page under international career it explains how he ended up playing full international with England instead of Ireland.

Indeed. He was at norwich as a youth player so that may be his spiritual home but personally I hope his soul yearns for the plains of Esdraelon but you cant be sure I suppose.

I think his dad felt that Britain had been good to him, providing work etc. I think he felt that it'd be best for Martin because there was still anti-Irish feeling at the time and he didn't want Martin subjected to that.

Yes they were as far as I know.

Some scarcasm on my part - given Martin hitched his wagon to England - its a little ironic that the commitment to Ireland skips a generation!
